I am curious if anyone has ordered one of the special order cakes you can get through Vacation Planning? If so, what did you have and was it good/worth it? Pictures are always welcome if you have any!! Thanks for the information.

I'm not sure who we got ours from but it was inside the Grand Californian (my IL's were staying there but we were at the Super 8:lmao: )
It was a VERY good cake and it was pretty too...but I don't have any ideas where those pictures might be.

I am considering ordering one and don't want it to be like the stale cake people have talked about getting at Pat E. Cake's birthday party at Plaza Inn, especially because they are kind of spendy!!

HI, I am using vp for somethings. We are staying at DLH CL. I rather take care of the cake. I ordered from GCH bakery. I did have to get with the chef to get the ok for a smaller mad hatter themed 2 tier cake. Price they gave me 80 dollars. I ordered vanilla cake, white chocolate and rasberry filling. I hope it is great. We shall see oct 29.

I just ordered one with butter cream frosting, white cake and strawberries for the filling. I am not sure if the strawberries are by themselves or with whipped cream or white chocolate in the center. I guess I will find out!!

The strawberry filling is a cream filling with strawberries in it. If you guys need help Ray in VP is awesome.

We have ordered cakes 2 times at this point through vaction planning. I must say they were both really good and decorated very well. It has been more than 3 years since we have ordered though so I do not remember what kind of cakes we got (flavor wise).
I can say though that as you can tell by my ticker we are coming up on a little Fall getaway and satying at the GCH for our 12 year old daughters 13th B-day and we have ordered a cake!!!! So I will take some pics of it and report back on how it is!!!
This will be a special cake as it will be a flourless or Gluten free cake so we are all really looking forward to trying it as it will be a first. Our B-day girl was diagnosed over a year ago with Celiac so we can't have the cakes we used to have. The cake we ordered for her will be chocolate with buttercream frosting and banana's:banana:  for the filling.
Getting to try Disney's version of a Gluten Free cake will be one of the highlights of our trip!!!!!!!:goodvibes
I can make Gluten free cakes and have really learned how to bake many gluten free items since the diagnosis but I can tell you it is not like going to a bakery and picking up one of those cakes......so this Disney cake will be the first bakery cake since the Gluten Free days began!!!!! Sooooooo excited!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yes my cake I ordered for Ds b-day was awsome! The pics are in the cake thread .

Yep, it's a cream with the strawberries. I ordered white chocolate mousse with raspberries. When I picked it I got alot of that's a good choice. It took me a few days to decide on vanilla, or chocolate cake, and fillings. It's for me, and my daughter to celebrate my 30th b-day ugh. She said no right away to the coffee one. I'm sure mine will probably have fondant since it's a mad hatter Alice in wonderland whimsy cake.

The Mad Hatter cake sounds great. The cake thread was very helpful also...there were some really nice anniversary cakes in there. I told VP to let the decorators use their imaginations...we had a Disney themed wedding cake and described it to VP so who knows what we will end up with. So far it looks like they do a great job and I doubt we will be disappointed.
