Has anyone taken a taxi to a Disney Resort?

My parents are coming with us next trip, but are on a different flight and staying fewer days. They aren't sure they want to rent a car either. I suggested a towncar, knowing there are quite a few reputable ones and that it's around $80 roundtrip for them and my 2 sibs that will be with them.

My mom thought that $80 was overpriced, even for roundtrip.

She's thinking about taking a taxi both ways. Now I have never taken a taxi from the airport, but heck it costs $15-$20 to take a taxi from inside Disney World to another place inside WDW. I am thinking it probably costs about $50 one way for a taxi from the airport.

Can anyone give me some info? Or point me to a website that might give me some estimated costs?

Thanks.

We took taxis the first two times we stayed on property and the fee was around $40. I say the best bet is to do the towncar, so if they are caught in traffic, there is no huge bill at the end.
There is usually a 5 to 10 dollar discount on round trip fares.

We are never taking a taxi to any Disney Resort from the airport again. It costs at least $40 and that's if there's no traffic. I would also suggest renting a towncar...for a more comfortable ride and you may also get a half hour grocery stop for some companies. This is the better deal. Shuttles are cheap but you have to wait a long time to get to your resort..which can be a burden if you just want to get there and go for the magic. My family always uses towncars from now on and we tell everyone to use it as well
