Hi,

I am new here, but have been reading the forum for a couple of weeks. Everyone seems so nice and helpful, and since I am a Disney nut too, I thought I would ask for some advice from those of you that may know. Has anyone ever stayed at the Ramada Inn Resort Maingate? It is listed as a Good Neighbor Hotel, and of course I have read some reviews on different websites, but those have good and bad reviews. I really don't know what to expect. We go every year to Orlando and have stayed at different places each time. My favorite is the value resorts on site and it is possible that we may get to this time as well, but I do have reservations on hold at the Ramada. Just wondering if anyone could help? Thanks in advance!!!

Is that the Ramada on Parkway blvd??............P BTW, I forgot to say....WELCOME TO THE DISBOARDS!! ..............P

Okay, I'm being blonde (which is okay for me to say, since I really am blonde).... the hotel I was thinking of wasn't a Ramada... it was a Radisson....Sorry:rolleyes: .......Try posting your question over at the Orlando Hotels and Resorts board here on the Dis. You will probably get more answers than you want!............P

Thank you so much for the reply! Don't worry I have those blonde moment too. LOL
I reposted on the Orlando Hotels and we'll see what I get.

Thanks

We stayed there a few 3 or 4 years ago and it was ok but won't stay there again because we now stay at the Marriott Village (Fairfield Inn). Free breakfast incl. It does cost $5 p/p for transportation to the parks but it is a very nice resort and the pool is nice. We always seem to get a great rate. We are staying there in July for $55/nite.

I will keep that one in mind also. Thank you very much!
We could stay at the value resort on site for I think $69.00 per night. That rate is with some friends fl resident rate, they are coming for a night or two. We need two rooms. There will be five adults splitting the cost. I am trying to see what everyone can afford. I am a single/divorced mom of a 10 year old boy. We go every year and last year I started taking one of his friends along, his parents would not be able to take him and my son enjoys the company so I have to cut costs to be able to take him. I also have a friend that is 34 and has never been much of anywhere and I would love for both of them to have first time experiences at the onsite resorts for disney. My mom is also going, she doesn't care as long as she goes. LOL It is not her first time either. My sister lives in Georgia and we will be stopping on the way and picking her up. She doesn't care either. This is not her first time. I just don't know what to do. I need to save money and the other lady is single also and she really needs to save money too. I am trying to outweigh the benefits of staying on site versus offsite. This is driving me crazy.

Glad to hear nice things about the Marriott.... DH has been traveling to Vermont on business about one to two nights a week lately and staying at a Marriott and has signed up for their rewards program.... Maybe we can get some vacation nights out of this!...................P

We just stayed at the Econolodge on Irlo Bronson. It was right next to a Ramada. It was nice being so close to the parks and we only payed $30 a night. We booked on hotels.com. They had a free shuttle that ran about 3 times in the morning for drop off and 3 times in the evening for pick-up. Our DD is so young that we really needed to go back to the room before it was time for pick-up and we ended up taking our van every day, but the first. Our room was ok for the price and the pool was suprisingly nice. When money is a big deal and you won't be spending much time in the room anyway, I would say that this is a good place to stay.

Thank you all for your posts. This Ramada is on Reedy Creek Rd. right off of 192.

We stayed at a Ramada Inn near Disney a few years ago, and it was the worst hotel experience in our lives (second was a Ramada in New York). Never again will we use a Ramada. We had no hot water for 3 days, and the manager would just laugh when we'd call and complain. There were beer bottles laying all over the grass - it was a nightmare. We had booked a package from our travel agent, and she had us switched midweek when we called her from WDW to complain. We then got a nice, little family owned hotel. When I wrote a letter to corporate offices when we got home, I got a letter back saying Ramadas are privately owned and they can't get involved in anything. After that experience, we will only stay onsite at Disney! So be careful!
