I'm typing this from room #418, a 2-bedroom suite, at the Royale Parc right now. We checked in earlier today after completing a 4 day land/3 day sea package where we stayed at Saratoga Springs during the land portion of the trip. We also stayed at Floridays on the night we arrived.
Not that it really matters, but the Royale Parc doesn't compare at all to Saratoga Springs or even Floridays - and you shouldn't expect it to, given the price. Since this is the hotel reviews forum, here's my take:
Building: this place is pretty old. Lots of peeling paint everywhere.
Room: Decent size. Each bedroom contails 2 fullsize beds. Kitchen area is more of a kitchenette - a small stove with 2 burners, undercounter refrigerator, small microwave oven. Kitchen and bathroom areas are tiled, but tiles are chipped, tile grout is discolored and/or dirty. Each room contains a flat-panel TV, as does the living area. There is also a separate air conditioner in each bedroom, which is nice, but the AC units are LOUD.
Cleanliness: only average. I have no problem walking around in bare feet, but in front of the TV in the living area I stepped on something sharp that was lodged in the carpet.
Pool: Spartan. Smallish size, with a separate hottub and a small, ~1.5 foot deep kiddie splash pool. For the kids, there is also a small play structure and arcade with various videogames, air hockey, and pinball machines next to the pool. Pool is open until 11PM.
Location: Pretty good. Located on a large thoroughfare but hotel itself is set back from the road, so no noise from cars. There's a Days Inn next door and a big chintzy Florida tours/tourist info store in front. Up and down the street you'll find tons of restaurants, including standard fare such as Chili's, Uno's, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Dennys, IHOP, you name it. There's also a 24 hour Walgreen's and a Publix grocery store across the street, within walking distance.
Distance from WDW: we had one day left on our KTTW cards, so after stopping by the Royale Parc in the morning, we drove to Magic Kingdom. Drive itself only took about 5-10 minutes over local roads. Overall proximity to WDW is really good.
Front desk/lobby: Nothing special. The clerks at reception are very nice and accommodating, and when you check in they give you a coupon that you take to the Concierge desk for a free coupon book that has various discounts to restaurants and attractions in the area. The concierge is run by a third party and you can, apparently, purchase WDW tickets from them.
Free Breakfast: when we arrived this morning the clerk invited us to the free hot breakfast, even though we hadn't officially checked in. For a free meal, it's pretty good - you get a small, all-you-can-eat buffet of various breakfast items including oatmeal, grits, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, mixed fruit (from a can), scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, danish rolls, cinnamon rolls, cornbread, milk, and cereal.
Free WiFi Internet: using it right now. It's 802.11g, it works, but from this room I'm only getting about 60% signal strength and overall data throughput ranges from acceptable to slow at times.
Overall: compared to the other places we stayed at on this vacation, the Royale Parc is somewhat dumpy, and not as clean. This place would definitely benefit from a remodeling. However, I can't really complain because the price was good (about $100/night for a 2 bedroom suite), and we're only staying here for the night before returning home. Location is good and close to a lot of things including WDW.
