Hi,

I booked the Swan for my weekend stay because I was able to get the teacher discount rate of $155.00 per night. I wanted to stay one of the Disney resorts, but there was no discount available, and POFQ was offering the same rate per night as the Swan.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Swan or Dolphin? If so was it nice or was it terrible? We will be moving over to the BCV after a stay at the BWV so I thought it would be good to stay close by.

I also see that DVC members can get 20% off their meals at some of the restaurants there! :teeth:

Thanks for your imput

I've stayed at Swan/Dolphin three times in '05. First for a week with 2 kids and DH, second for a weekend with a girlfriend, and 3rd in Dec. 05 with friends before moving to BC for a work convention. I've been very happy (esp because I normally stay free on my Starwood points). It's not the same as Disney, but the beds are very nice, they're quick to bring extra towels, etc. I've also had very good service overall. Only things I don't like is no ME and no Dining Plan.

(another perk - the hot tubs stayed open past posted times, so we were able to soak after a long day of walking the parks)

you cant go wrong. Thats were we always stayed till now ( closing on DVC) And will stay there on the weekend on Fl rate :)

Great choice! We love the Swan and Dolphin! You can't beat the location and the teacher rates are awesome! The rooms are large, beds super comfy and accomodations deluxe (IMO).

Enjoy!

We have stayed at the Swan. Our kids loved the pool and activities. There was a dj playing music and games for the kids (hoola hoop contest). I would stay there again.

We have stayed at both the Swan and Dolphin, and we enjoy them both. There's never been a problem with getting the discount at any of the restaurants, and we enjoy Tubbi's, the ice cream place,(but here we have found the service to be very slow), and Fresh (deserts to die for).

Bobbi :)

PS. We didn't know about the Teachers rate at S&D until the Dayton Daily News did an article about Disney in early 2001 and so we only booked one extended family trip there. What a bargain that was!!

Thanks for your replies. I am going to keep my ressie at the Swan. I am not really optimistic about AP codes coming out or my being able to get the hotel I want so I will be happy with what I have. Besides, I did notice that the Swan is closest to the mini golf and tennis center.

We stayed at the Dolphin a few years ago and had a good time. There is still the convenience of Disney transportation (boats to Epcot and MGM). It is walking distance to the Boardwalk area, where there are several restaurant and nightclub choices. For $155 a night, you can't go wrong. Have fun.
