Has anyone shipped packages to your home from a Walt Disney Resort?

We are venturing down to the World in December and are trying to simplify the logistics since we will be traveling with a 10 month old, a car seat and a stoller. One less piece of luggage is so tempting, not to mention it probably won't cost much more then taking the luggage on our flight. The idea is to ship down diapers, formula, ect. and mail back dirty clothes. However, through my research I have found that packages can only be mailed from the parks. Are there any other on proprty post offices? Is it possible to prepay to ship and drop it at the resort front desk? Any suggestions? I know you all will have the answer! Thanks.

We shipped via FedEx at home to POP with no problems. The package was waiting for us when we arrived.

Our box was about 18 pounds....but before you scream....we had lots of baby food, diapers, snacks, some medical supplies, etc.....and it was around $30 if I remember correctly.

The way we figured it was: it was cheap for 2 main reasons:

1) convenience = we didn't have to lug it all with us
2) our airline would have charged $15 each way to check a bag anyway

We have shipped both directions.
I have a word of caution...

When you ship TO your resort- always use FedEx or UPS. Do not use the USMail. The reason is that packages sent by FedEx and UPS go directly to the resort. Packages sent through the USPS go to a clearinghouse on Disney Property before being sorted and then finally arriving at your resort.

I learned this the hard way over Christmas several years ago. I mailed a box USPS with Delivery Confirmation. I saw before we left home that the package had arrived, and I even printed the online notification. Since it was a holiday weekend, things slowed down more than usual. But I did not learn until 2 days after I arrived (and was distraught over the missing box) about the clearinghouse. Yes, the USPS did deliver the box to Disney on the day my notice said, but it was not at my resort. Then the CM let me in on the secret!
Only use FedEx or UPS!!

Now, shipping home is easy. I used the box I sent down to mail my things home. I printed a shipping label out at home before I left and even packed a roll of packing tape in my box so I could seal up the box returning home.
You can get the appropriate shipping info and labels right from the front desk concierge. They can also weigh the box and you pay them right there at the front desk. :thumbsup2

We shipped a box home from OKW this past december. The front desk was able to weigh it and all, with no problems. We also packed a small roll of packing tape in the box when we shipped it down, so we were able to seal it up ourselves in the room before taking it to the front desk.

Lets put it this way... the UPS guy knows when I've been to WDW... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

When I traveled with my 14 week old baby last week, I used a company called Babies Travel Lite http://www.babiestravellite.com/. I bought formula, diapers, wipes and a bunch of other needed baby stuff through them and they shipped it to the resort. It was quite easy.

The box was waiting at the resort (Boardwalk), but do be aware that the package center closes at 5pm, so if you arrive after 5pm you may not get the box until the next day. I spoke with the manager at the desk and she was able to access the package room and get my box for me that night. Thank goodness!

One more tip, I rented a stroller and a swing from http://www.abbf.com/ A Baby's Best Friend. They were waiting at Bell Services when I checked in. Having a comfortable stroller in the resort and not using the hard plastic strollers at the parks, was wonderful. I can't survive without having a swing to give my arms a break. ;) The prices were also quite reasonable.

Have fun!

I shipped a package from home to AS Music and it was waiting for me when I arrived. (When you check in, let the CM know that you've shipped a package and they can get it for you, or delivery it to your room) We also have shipped packages home from there and from AS Movies. It was easy both ways.

Thank you all! Good to know that I can pay for postage from the resort. I really appreciate your help!

Yuperdoo. Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Poly and AKL. They even got me the boxes, tape gun, shipping labels, marker, pen and form to fill out.

Staying club level, they got me all this stuff and charged much more than when I just went to the front desk and asked for it. But they told me to keep the marker, so Woo Hoo! :cool1:;)

Disney does not (at least they didn't for me) charge anything near actual UPS shipping costs. DH, who knows UPS shipping costs inside out, almost had himself a heart attack when he saw it the first time. But it was easy.

I think (but am not sure) that there is a UPS store in that little plaza right off Disney property where Goodings and Friday's and the sunglass store are.

You can also have the stuff sent right to your house when you pay for it. You don't pay tax, so it works out to be pretty close to the same amount. And you do no work at all. They do a FANTASTIC job of wrapping my crap so that it doesn't break. ::yes::
