Has anyone shipped home purchases?

Hoping this will not be necessary; however, each trip I've been on I come home with a little more than the trip before. This trip we will be flying with 4 children - I know there will be many purchases made during our 9 day stay. Is there a way to gather many of your purchases and have them shipped home in a large box????

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Yes!....any Disney resort hotel that has a business center can do this. Simply go to one, get a box of the size you'll need, take it back to your room pack it up and return it to the business center - I have done this many, many times...if you are staying in a delux concerige, they may actually come to your room and pick up your outgoing shippment.

Another thought/possibility is to try to limit the bulk of your shopping to a trip to say The World of Disney Store in DTD....when you're ready to check out will all your stuff simply tell 'em you'd like to have your stuff shipped home.

One advantage of the latter is that if you don't live in FL, you won't have to pay sales tax if the items are being shipped out of state....depending on how much you buy...the savings from sales tax could take a big chunk out of the cost of the shipping.

Have a Magical trip! :)

:D We've had Disney ship glassware home too and never received anything broken. You can get 10% off your cost also with an AP at World of Disney. We save most of our shopping for there.

Office Depot's UPS counter doesn't put a surcharge on shipping like the Mail Box Etc shops do. You might have to purchase a box if you need one but it's cheaper than a lot of other alternatives.

Yes! I always ship home , esp. fragile things like figurines and snow globes. Have not a had a single thing break. I highly recommend it!

Whenever we purchased an item, we requested it to be shipped home right at the cash register. That way you do not have to pay sales tax. The cost to ship it home and the sales tax is about a wash. Definately ship!

Whenever I purchase stuff from The ARt of Disney at Downtown Disney, I have them ship it home. I have done the same at the toy shop. I have never recieved anything damaged.

I agree with those who have suggested asking them to ship your purchase at the time you buy it. You will not have to pay sales tax if shipping out of Florida, and if your purchase is large enough the tax savings will more than offset the shipping costs. Also, WDW's shipping is safe and reliable. When I had an item shipped a few weeks ago, it arrived in perfect condition and was sent on the exact day that I requested. The stores in WDW also tend to have boxes and packing materials tailored to the particular items that they sell, so there should be no concerns about protecting your purchase during shipment.

Another benefit to shipping at the time you purchase is that Disney is very good about replacing damaged items. We have shipped three times. Twice we had an item damaged, but it just took a call to Disney Merchandising and the items were replaced without any hassle.
