Has anyone sent luggage on ME but not themselves back to MCO?

We are using the ME on arrival, but will be renting a car during our stay. It would be convenient to ME the bags back to the airport, since we can leave later than the ME would require us to.

Has anyone successfully put their luggage on ME without riding the bus back? :)

On Magical Express documents it says guests must be using Magical express in order for the bags to be transported.

Now there is a service if you are flying on a participating airline that you can check in at the hotel. You can check in for your flight anywhere between 3-12 hrs from scheduled flight time. You may want to see what you can find out about that.

There is a link (don't know how to post it) under transportation. Its under the sticky magical Express.

Luggage service for the return trip is separte from ME. Yes you can check your bags at the hotel but drive yourself back to the airport.

That's only for the trip from MCO to the resort. The OP was specifically asking about the trip from the resort back to MCO. On return from the resort to MCO, people flying on a Resort Airline Check-In "participating" airline can check their luggage in at the resort, and at that point Disney doesn't care how they get back to the airport. So the answer is, you can check your bags with Resort Airline Check-In and then drive your rental car back to the airport.

As OKW Lover pointed out, DME and Resort Airline Check-In are separate entities -- one is not dependent on or even related to the other. This is totally different than when you arrive at the beginning of your vacation. At the beginning of your Disney trip, DME is both the bus ride and the automatic luggage delivery, and you can't get the luggage delivery without riding the bus.

Check the sticky at the top of this board regarding "participating airlines". If your airline is one of them, you can check your bags at the resort airline check in desk (acts just like the counter at the airport). It doesn't matter if you are using ME or not.

If your airline is not a participating airline, you can't check your luggage.

Thank You...I didn't realize that airline check in was separate from ME...I thought it was the same! I'm so glad that JET BLue is participating! :)

Disney just makes it so easy to travel! When I fly to other destinations I always wish my luggage would just magically arrive at my hotel!

At the same time, you can check yourself in for your flight. All members of your party would have to be present, and with ID (depending on age). You don't HAVE to use that option, but since you may have to wait in line to check your luggage, check in for your flight at the same time and avoid at least one line at he airport.

I thought that was what I said... :confused3 M.E .will not just transfer your bags without the guests, but if your airline is participating you can do the other service. (didn't know the name was resort airline check in)

Justplaingoofy,

Everytime I see the picture of your dog it makes me laugh. I have a yellow lab who also loves to go in the pool, but I've never seen any dog float like yours! I love the way the paws are crossed so dainty like.

It is so funny and cute at the same time. :)

Thank you...i am a proud mother... :teeth: He is in the pool 24/7 if we let him. We push the float up to the stairs and he walks over on it and gets him situated..he will float like that for a good :20-:30 until he gets too warm or bored and will slither off into a swim...:teeth:

I may change it soon..we have a pic. of him dressed up for halloween with a pig nose & pig ears on :rotfl2:
thank you again...
