We are thinking about a 4 night western caribbean cruise out of Miami in September. We would be hitting Key West and Cozumel, then back to Miami. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Carnival Cruises...

It's really too good a deal to pass up, a veranda suite on the top deck, $1300 total..

I haven't been on the Fascination, but I went on it's sister ship Inspiration over Thanksgiving. All of the Fantasy class ships have the exact same layout, which is a little hard to figure out at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be fine. We had a wonderful time, and have absolutely no complaints about Carnival whatsoever.

I've cruised with Carnival twice, just not that ship. We were on Carnival Destiny for both. I LOVE Carnival. There are great programs for kids and tons going on for teens and adults. I loved both of them and I would be happy to answer any more questions you have.

Our second cruise was with Carnival and we found it to be too much of a party cruise for us. We even went in October figuring that maybe it wouldn't be that way off season but it still was.

Just for an example - they played a game in the pool where the girls had to stuff fruit and vegetables in their bathing suits and the one with the most stuffed, won a prize. Not our kind of entertainment.

We much prefer the Disney Cruise ships or Royal Caribbean. We enjoyed those cruises much more than Carnival.

It's all a matter of what kind of entertainment you enjoy. We prefer it to be more sedate and "kid" friendly.

By the way, if you go to Cozumel, there is a wonderful beach there called Mr. Sanchos. It's a short cab ride away from the dock and it has the clearest, warmest water and a great restaurant on the beach, literally 10 feet from the shore. They have excellent nachos, fajitas and margaritas there for a very cheap price. Let me know if you need more info. We were all over the place in Cozumel. :)

DH and I went on a 4-night Carnival Fantasy cruise a year ago and we loved it, only $299 per person (inside cabin) so we thought that was a great bargain. We are not "party people" and we thought the entertainment (especially in the lounge, the shows and the "adult" shows after) was great. Would not hesitate to sail on Carnival again.

Our daughter and her husband were on the Fascination just over a year ago and they enjoyed their experience too.

We also sailed on the sister ship Fantasy and you really can't beat it for the price. It was our first cruise so we had nothing to compare it to. We also had a verandah suite which was really nice.

Since that sailing we have sailed RCCL and Norrwegian which were also great. But we missed the suite.
It sounds like a great price.
