Has anyone received travel vouchers through Airtran?

I noticed that our flight prices have gone down today. I booked a few weeks ago at a more expensive price. I called and the agent said that they do not give vouchers when the price decreases-just like they do not expect me to pay more when the price increases.

I know that some airlines do issue vouchers for the price difference and was wondering if anyone had gotten them through Airtran.

They've never given me one, despite several trips' worth of polite requests.

I got the same spiel when I called. Maybe that's part of their training!

My advice to you would be to keep trying. I booked our June flights over the phone directly with AirTran. Total cost with fees was $1164 for 4 coach tickets. Of course I had to torture myself & constantly check AirTran's website after that & came across a "web special" a few weeks ago that totalled $660 for the same flights! Called AirTran to see about a credit voucher & after some confusion about whether or not I'd have to cancel my original ressie & try to "catch" the web special by booking online, the agent spoke with her supervisor & we were able to rebook with the cheaper rate. Of course they subtract a $50 "re-booking" fee from each ticket, but even after the fee, the rate was so incredible that I still got $304 in a credit file through AirTran to be used within the next 12 months. The agent was quite friendly despite her initial confusion whether she could do this & I even asked to speak with her supervisor so I could relay to her how much I appreciated her help. Don't forget the re-booking fee ($50 per ticket) when considering the lower rate. Hope this helps you to get the same great deal I did. These tickets were non-refundable so I appreciate getting any credit back!
