Has anyone put a Wii Video Game system to use as part of their exercise program?

I am hearing more people who are doing this.

Oh, my story?

Well, I have been putting off getting back into shape for the last couple of years and it is time I do so that I can keep up with my 2 year old daughter.

While I know there are other means of exercising, people that I have talked too say that they really get a work out of this.

Yep, boxing can be a great workout!

Also, they are making a game designed for workouts.... I think it is supposed to come out real soon.

We got a Wii for our DD for Christmas. Hear that it can be a great workout. Yes they are coming out with Wii Fit, which has a balance board and yoga and aerobics type activities on it. I will definately we getting that.

Who says you can't Wii your way to better health and fitness?:lmao:

Hey Drakethib!

Yes I actually incorporate the Wii as part of my exercise routine. I will do 6 - 8 games of boxing and then 4 games of tennis. I just got the Mario and Sonic Olympics and some of those games can give you a great work out too! Also a lot of people do the dance dance revolution.

Good luck with getting back in shape!

It isn't a regular part of my exercise routine, but I surely do enjoy the added exercise and the fun my family and I have with our Wii.

I am glad to read these replies. We got our kids a wii for christmas and I am hoping to have fun too. I want to get the fit game when it comes out. I love the sports ones too.

We have had our Wii for about 2 months and love it! You can definitely get a work out, especially with the boxing. And as others have already said, Wii Fit will be out in the spring. I am so there.

Also, my brother has a couple of friends who play Dance Dance Revolution. They do use it as there sole means of exercise and have lost weight doing it. (Just in case DH is reading, that's on my wish list!;) )
