I wanted to get the doll for my three year old. I had her in my hands on Sunday but I thought she was a little expensive. My two older daughters wanted to buy it for her and she has now become the hottest doll in the country. Does anyone have her? I am so mad. I guess when there is something you can't have you seem to want it more. I have called every store I can think of and she is sold out.

I thought she was the hottest doll out there? Doesn't seem like it from this board. Maybe she is only wanted in Michigan.

My DD6 got her for her birthday in October and I have to tell you she has been a total bust, especially considering she costs about $100. My DD was totally frustrated because you have to say things a very specific way and in a very specific voice or she doesn't "understand". Then, when she asks a question over and over that DD is answering, but Amanda doesn't recognize DD is ready to flip her lid. Her batteries (which we put in, fresh ones) only lasted for maybe 5 hours of play. And, truly, DD has asked me NOT to replace them. We give Amanda a big thumbs down. And, DD's quote of the year is "Mommy, why would the commercial say she's amazing when really she's just average?"

I looked at this for my 3 year old (she loves the commercial) but decided against it after reading the reviews on amazon. I went with Baby Annabell instead which people seem to love.

I could be totally wrong here (I hope I am not though)

Never heard of her.

My DD7 is now very interested in The American Girl dolls....they go for $87. :earseek:

My DD just started begging for Amanda after one of her friends got her for a birthday. My Christmas shopping is done, so too bad. Plus, I sure don't have $100 for a doll left in my budget. Our Walmart had 6 of them last night though. One thing to think about is that Walmarts are restocking all of the lay-away stuff that didn't get bought, so they may put some out. It would be worth checking if you really want one.

I was looking at it at the store last night because I didn't know what she was talking about. It isn't a very cute doll, and the quotes on the box have it arguing with "mommy" which I don't like. "Here Amanda drink your juice." "I don't want juice I want pizza" or something like that. I don't know anymore than that though.

I totally agree with this. We bought one for DD5 for her birthday, she got so frustrated with it, she has not picked it up since. Total waste of money.
