Has anyone Pulled a Child out of School to Go to WDW?

My DD will be in 3rd grade next year and my DS 2nd year of preschool and they will be missing 4 days in October for our vacation.

DD has had perfect attendence 3 years of preschool and K-2 and DS this year is his first and also never missed a day. I will be telling their teachers before we go and it should not be a problem.

My DD is starting 6th grade on Aug 16, our trip to WDW is Aug 30 - Sept 6, she will have Labor Day off from school. I won't lie, I'll tell them where we are going with plenty of time for extra homework etc. Anything she misses in her grades the first semester she will be able to make up for in the 2nd if nothing else. And imho, grades that early won't affect anything they do later on in school ;)

I do agree on it being harder as they get older, but as previous posters...Can't beat the price & free diningplan :rolleyes1

Besides this is the third trip at the same time of year, we just love it there in Aug-Sept :goodvibes

I just pull my kids. I have one that is in 10th grade and the other in 8th. Never had an issue. My 10th grader had one teacher that gave him a hard time, but in the end it was fine. My kids of course have perfect attendence except when they are taken out for vacation so maybe that is why this has not been an issue. I do about a month before email all teachers and tell them I am taking the kids and if they have anything they want the kids to do etc.. to let me know...
