Hi- I was interested in painting a mural on my dd's wall. I am thinking about using some coloring book pages and then projecting them on the wall; tracing them and them painting it.

The thing is...I have NO artistic talent. I have read that it's pretty simple, but I was wondering if anyone has done this. If so - ANY tips would be appreciated.

I originally wanted to do Cinderellas castle - but I think the detail on that is too much for me. So I found a simple castle from a coloring book.

Thanks-
Deb

I did a Land Before Time mural in my son's room. I used the projector with colouring pages and painted it in. It turned out really well. I don't have any artistic ability, so if I can do it, so can you! I tried to use a pencil at first to outline the characters, but found it easier to just leave the projection on the wall while I painted. Good luck!

My son currently has a few characters from Finding Nemo on his walls. I bought a book or library might have one, with the characters your looking for. I lightly pencilled the outline. When I was satisfied with the drawing I use Paint markers from Hobby Lobby, Michaels also has them. I didn't think I could do it either. But it actually looks good. Try it, it doesn't have to look professional your daughter will love the effort.

There is a picture of a really nice one in someone's bathroom on this thread:

I remember someone posting pictures of some a long time ago that were really well done. They did do them like you talked about with an overhead.
