I'm just curious if anyone has had to move with a son or daughter in high school, specifically, with just one year to go.

We're contemplating a move, oldest DS will be a senior this fall. Just wondering if anyone has moved at this point in their children's life, and how they were affected.

Thanks.

Have you moved before or has your child spent his school career in the same school district. I would think that would be really hard to move during his Senior year, even though he will be off to college shortly. I have a friend who moved her Senior year and she says she never got over it. My DH moved when he was in 8th grade and still talks about how hard it was (he is 40)!

I moved in the middle of my freshman year, the middle of my junior year and then again the summer before my senior year. My Dad was in the Army at the time so it was something I was used to.

Honestly, I hated the moves I made my freshman year and junior year. The only reason I didn't mind the move right before my senior year was because I hated El Paso (where we were stationed) and I was only there for 6 months. The moves my freshman year and particularly my junior year were very hard on me. I had lots of friends and as a HS student my friends were my life. I missed them a great deal with each move and it took me many months to get over each move. I knew we didn't have a choice about moving but it was still hard to leave everything I thought was important behind.
