I just noticed a Fit Zone somewhat on my way home from work. In looking at their website they offer the circuit training but also have classes available and not sure how many but they list treatmills, bikes and ellipitcal machines too.

So has anyone heard of this gym? What really made me curious was that they offered the classes and had the treadmills. I like the vareity idea and come winter use the bikes and treadmills for when the snow is just too deep or icey for a outdoor day.

Thanks!!!

I can't speak for the gym franchise, but I'm thinking from your description that it sounds like they've got the variety you would be looking to have.

It is even better if it would be something convenient that you could use.

Let us know what you think after you've tried it out. Perhaps they have some sort of introductory offer.

Thanks Lily! I'm thinking of stopping in a week from Wednesday which be the day I would be the most likely be there often on after work. I should have stopped by today too but didn't. We get a day off from work for the holiday and I'm bumming because it's the day I would want to check the gym out for busy times LOL

I'll bookmark the thread and post back on my findings.

Well I went ahead and joined the Fit Zone last week. Today marks the start of my 2nd week and I'm still liking it :)

Last Monday I joined and they walked me thru the circuit training. Setting me up on how much weight I should use on each machine and fixing me up on what number to adjust the seats to so they best fit me. Following that I did my 1st class with them since it was just starting as I was finishing up. It was a Pilates class and I figured what the heck. Stretching and toning. I could do it. I have one of those QVC Pilates machines and figured I knew what I was getting into since I enjoy using it when I DO use it LOL

Oh my! The instructor decided to change things up a bit and used those lovely new balls everyone is sporting these days. Those things are a LOT of work! I was exhausted that night after completing my 1st circuit training and class. That really is a balancing act trying to stay with those balls. I sure did feel it and in a good way. I had a good laugh at myself as I tried to keep up. I did manage NOT to fall off the ball ;)

Wednesday rolled around and I figued I'd take it easy (Tuesday is my speed workout for running) so I did the my 2nd circuit training. This time they followed me around and it was up to me to adjust the seats and weights according to my sheet.

Thursday morning came soo quickly and since it's my day off I plan on going in the mornings and showed up for a Stretching&Toning class. Again, a bit more work then I first figured. But still good! I knew when I finished I had worked out and worked my stomach too which is major focus of mine.

Friday mornings will eventually be another day at the gym by DH took the day off so I skipped and would you believe I was actually quite annoyed that I didn't get my hour or so at the gym?? LOL All was made up since I got to finally see the Harry Potter movie.

Today was my 1st day alone on the circuit training and only on maybe 2 did I do a little less because I fumbled with the settings. That will come with practice and I'm being assured by DH, friends and those at the gym that even the ease of doing the machines will come as I train my body. Thankfully I DO know this is true since I used to HATE doing 6 miles and be a whining, cranky baby for the rest of those days. Now 6 miles is a short walk to me and I know eventually those machines will be just as comfortable. Now if only that BALL would get easier. LOL

Tonight I have to talk over with DH what my gym schedule will be. Training for the marathon is getting tougher but I know it will all pay off. But now adding in the gym will require some planning on making sure I still feel like I have a life ;)

If your thinking of this gym i would recommend checking out your local one to see if the classes work well for you. It looks like my local one is fairly set in when the classes are available but I can report back in a month or so if they do change or not. The bikes, ellipiticals and treads look good. The place is tidy and clean. Today was the 1st changing room issue since there are only 2 dedicated changing rooms. But we worked it all out. :) There are always plenty of lockers.

So far I'd give it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I'd give it more but I'm afraid I'd crash the boards ;) Definitely glad I did.

Thanks Lily!!!! Always a team member there with support. Gotta love that
