Has anyone heard of FW closing? heard it thru the grapevine

From a person who works at DW " THey are closing FW as they are building another hotel there and they need the land"..has anyone heard of this at all? tia marianne (FORT WILDERNESS)

I would be 100% shocked if this happens. FW is a very popular campsite and used for a variety of functions. I wouldn't hold my breath on this closing. Likewise, they are not going to build another resort again until needed and first they would finish PC.

Think someone got their details mixed up.
A golf course NEXT to Ft W is mostly done for, as a 4 Seasons resort is being built. (Been announced, in the news and started some time ago.)

They are also currently upgrading campsites and making quite a few improvements to the campground. The hotel where the golf course was is happening. That is what they are confused on.

Closing fort wilderness wouldn't make any sense. And besides, Disneyworld has plenty of land to build another resort on.

And FW was recently featured in the Travel Channel infomercial "Disney on a Dime". I think it's safe.

1) No truth to closure rumor.
2) You must have heard the rumot from a bus driver.
3) They are the first to know everything.
4) They are actually improving sites and adding sites.

Since FW is one of the Original Three resorts on property -- along with CR and Poly -- that is unthinkable.

When you visit, though, you can see that a lot of the ground next door has been cleared for the new Four Seasons luxury resort.
