I did it for about a month, about 2 hrs a day and only made about $25. I gave up after that....
i've been a chacha guide since june of 2008. pay was cut in half in february of 2009. it used to be a great way to make money. i could work 3-4 hours and make $20-$25. now i work 5-5.5 hours a day, and make $11.00. it's ridiculous, but until i find a job outside my home, i'm stuck with it. you're reviewed by QC every day, and if you're consistently below 85%, eventually you will get terminated. my QC is consistently 100%, and occasionally i get a small bonus $1-$6.25, but that doesn't make up for the huge pay cut. unless you're just desperate and have no other options, i don't recommend it.
I have supported my family by working from home (online) since 2005. I recently had a new baby and he nurses all the time (seriously, he is 2.5 months and growing out of his 3-6 month clothes.) It is very hard for me to work while he's nursing, so I decided to sign up for ChaCha. The plan was to guide while he's nursing and work at my other job when he's napping. I was accepted Tuesday and have already realized that it is not worth my time. I can answer or redirect a max of 60 questions per 1/2 hr, which means I'm earning $2.40/hr. I make that in 5-10 minutes when I work.
There really are so many other ways to make money (good money) online. You should not have to give up 5.5 hrs and only make $11, especially if you don't even enjoy it. You can get these jobs just as easily as you can become a ChaCha guide (it was actually more time consuming to apply for ChaCha than it was to apply for the other companies I work for) and it you don't need any special qualifications.
Just something to think about.

Plus they always are having contests and special promotions like Cobra Time and Red Alerts. This brings your pay up even more.
