Has anyone heard of CHa-Cha?

I did it for awhile. It is legit but I didn't think it was worth the time. However I knew many people who loved it so give it a try, you might like it!

Have to agree w/ PP. I did it for a while too, made great money. Then they kept lowering pay & changing rules. I still do it sometimes when I'm really bored. :) You can make money, it is legit. And if you're sitting home anyway on the computer, go for it! You may love it.

There are still a lot of people who are making decent money working for ChaCha.

I did it for awhile until they changed the pay structure. Don't know what they are doing/paying now. But it wasn't really worth it. In the end you have to pay taxes on that money (they don't take taxes out of your pay) and I had to pay out almost as much tax as what I had made. It wasn't worth it.

I've been at it for a few months and I'm not enjoying it at all. Almost every question I get, the same person has already asked it and according to their history, it was previously answered. Lots of misspellings and grammar errors and just plain made-up words; unless I'm misunderstanding the procedure, it's supposed to go through someone else for clarification before going to a guide, but most of mine don't. And now I've come to find out that after you answer, you get reviewed by Quality, who are apparently quite picky in the way that they want things answered. If you dip under 95%, it sounds like they suspend you or even terminate you (that's what a moderator on the forum said)... :confused3

It's just not turning out to be what I had read and what I got out of the "training."

I did it for about a month, about 2 hrs a day and only made about $25. I gave up after that....

I did it back in 08 and made about $300 a month. Then, I suddenly stopped getting questions to answer. Next, they cut the pay. Finally, I stopped working.

i've been a chacha guide since june of 2008. pay was cut in half in february of 2009. it used to be a great way to make money. i could work 3-4 hours and make $20-$25. now i work 5-5.5 hours a day, and make $11.00. it's ridiculous, but until i find a job outside my home, i'm stuck with it. you're reviewed by QC every day, and if you're consistently below 85%, eventually you will get terminated. my QC is consistently 100%, and occasionally i get a small bonus $1-$6.25, but that doesn't make up for the huge pay cut. unless you're just desperate and have no other options, i don't recommend it.

I used to do it back in 2008 and made about $25 in about 2-3 hours a night, goal was an extra $100 a week. No problem and I loved it. Then they cut the pay structure, and how the questions were queued, and quality control was ridiculous - you would be penalized and not even get feedback about what you did. Unless it has changed a lot - Don't do it - it is not worth your time.

I tried it out post-pay structure change and found it to not be worth my time. I am very quick on the Internet but was only earning about $2 per hour. Sometimes I would sit and wait forever for them to send me a question.

I have supported my family by working from home (online) since 2005. I recently had a new baby and he nurses all the time (seriously, he is 2.5 months and growing out of his 3-6 month clothes.) It is very hard for me to work while he's nursing, so I decided to sign up for ChaCha. The plan was to guide while he's nursing and work at my other job when he's napping. I was accepted Tuesday and have already realized that it is not worth my time. I can answer or redirect a max of 60 questions per 1/2 hr, which means I'm earning $2.40/hr. I make that in 5-10 minutes when I work.

There really are so many other ways to make money (good money) online. You should not have to give up 5.5 hrs and only make $11, especially if you don't even enjoy it. You can get these jobs just as easily as you can become a ChaCha guide (it was actually more time consuming to apply for ChaCha than it was to apply for the other companies I work for) and it you don't need any special qualifications.

Just something to think about.

any legitimate suggestions are deeply appreciated and PMs are welcome :)

I'd also like to be pm'd with suggestions for working from home. I had to quit school and working outside the home after my mom had brain surgery last December, which forced her to retire. We're at the point where we're really needing money again, and working outside the home just isn't an option anymore. (I doubt I'll find anyone willing to hire someone who has to be off work one week a month plus whatever else might come up.)

Don't take it to PMs!

Post the opportunities here! We'd all love to hear about work from home opportunities!

I have been doing ChaCha for about a year. It's a great way to earn money from home. I make about $1000 per month. I am really fast and accurate. I average at least $6 per hour. Plus they always are having contests and special promotions like Cobra Time and Red Alerts. This brings your pay up even more.

I do ChaCha on the side on and off for the past few years. It is not going to pay the bills but has helped while DH has been unemployeed that I can do it while the kids are I are watching a movie.

I also do phone work at home work at home journal has a listing of job leads plus companies that hire phone workers.

wahm.com, workplacelikehome and rat race rebellion are just a few of the sites for people who work at home.

I would love to hear your tips bc I am pretty fast and have a 100% QC but can't get above $3 wihtout cobra and weekend contests

I'm also curious about legit work-from-home sites - that DIS members have had success with. I don't expect to make big money, but something would be nice. The most I can do on ChaCha is $3/hr, a smidge more with contests/bonuses they run during busy times. I've kept up with it only during contests. I also joined in 2008 when the pay was better. I am only doing it now to save up for a solo trip (I'm trying to earn my own extra money to go on a little vacation without DD and DH).
