adenoids removed?Can anyone tell me what it's like?

Yeah, I have. It doesn't hurt much, from what I remember. I was really little, like six or something. I had been sick all year, and the docter took out my Tonsils and Adnoids... The tonsils hurt, but the adnoids didn't as much as the tonsils...I am not sure how exactly he got them out... I forgot... But shortly afterwards, I cought pnemounia (sp??) and that was bad. But out of all of it, the adnoids were the easiest part... It should take 30 min to an hour for everything. You shouldn't have to stay in overnight, unless you have a bad reaction to something. I was allergic to the seditive, but that is like a 1/100 case. Tell me how you do after it all! and G'luck!

I all most did. Now I have been having lung problems, and with my adnoids(i don't know how to spell that) anymore.

I also had my adenoids and tonsils taken out when I was 6, but I had my adenoids out about 6 months before my tonsils. I also got pneumonia about 2 months after having my adenoids taken out. I was asleep for the surgery, so I don't know how they did it or anything. I didn't stay overnight either. Good luck with your surgery!

Yeah, I was asleep too, but I was allergic to the seditive, and they found that out when they were trying to wake me up. I couldn't wake up, and I was having like convultions. They had to put me under again, and artifically wake me up... I am a perpetual emergency room paitent. As soon as I am out, I am right back in...

Same here. I didnt think it was that bad. But I was only 5. so i really didnt know anything.

did they have to give u the anesitha(sp?) through an IV?
