Has anyone had December flights changed/cancelled?

I haven't heard of anyone having flight changes/cancellations yet for Dec, but wonder if it's just too soon? We're flying Delta out of Milw. on Dec. 26th and have nonrefundable hotel room for that night, so just hope we don't get cancelled...

Yep; Frontier cancelled both of our flights in December abd rebooked us on other Frontier flights.

So far my flights in november, December, Jaunary and Febrauary haen't changed.

We're going the end of October. The first leg of our Orlando flight from Milwaukee to Cincinnati and then returning Cincinnati to Milwaukee were cancelled by Delta. When I discovered this on their Internet site, I called their 800 number and a wonderful (and calm) representative was able to rebook us through Atlanta. All of our new flights are now full so I guess we're just plain lucky!

We had our November/December flights cancelled on TWA. We were leaving on the last flight out both to and from MCO. TWA reassigned us with no problems. We even got to choose a morning flight on our day of arrival as opposed to the late night flight we were originally on. I am actually glad our flight was cancelled. My friend is flying was flying on Delta Express to MCO at that same time. Upon checking the Delta web site I noticed her flights were no longer listed. I urged her to call Delta yesterday and they claimed her flights hadn't actually been cancelled yet. She called Delta again this morning because the flights still weren't showing up on the web site and they said her flights weren't officially cancelled but were scheduled to be cancelled next week! She asked to be changed to another flight that was less likely to be cancelled. The agent was hesitant at first but spoke with a supervisor and they authorized the change. She is now flying on Delta and has to change planes in CVG to Orlando and ATL on the way home. She is flying out out of CMH (Columbus, OH) where they had many Delta Express flights departing daily and now only have one or two.

on Delta's website, but it's showing a price of over $850! The flight out has been booked solid for quite some time (according to the little diagram), so I don't know how they can continue to sell seats on it, but the return flight is still not even a quarter full. I wonder if they'll keep the one but cancel the other? Have to wait and see...

Selling seats on a full plane is done all of the time. It's called overbooking.

I usually find that the price difference between the non-refundable and refundable tickets is so high that it's still worth the small amount of risk to go with non-refundable. For example, a round trip from Denver to Boston on a non-refundable ticket 10/22 to 10/31 is showing up as $343. But, if I select a ticket that avoids change penalties, the price jumps to $1540 to $2000.

$343 or $1500 - I wouldn't personally call that a tough decision.

My flight home was canceled, and we were automaticly rebooked. The flight only leaves a couple minutes later, though. So, no big deal.

I just called Delta to check on my Christmas trip to WDW after reading all these posts. Fortunately, my flights have only changed by three or four minutes. I was told by Delta to call back in about a month. I said that since Christmas is such a busy travel time, I did not anticipate any cancellations in flights. The reservationist from Delta said that that is probably true. She said that the airline will probably not be cancelling flights at Christmas. I hope she is right.
