Hi everybody! I'm just looking to see if anyone on the board has had a commitment ceremony at WDW. My DP and I will be celebrating 10 years of happiness together next March and we want to do something special to celebrate. Since Disney is so special to us, we thought it would be amazing to have a little ceremony there. It looks pretty expensive, so I was just wondering if anyone had done it or if anyone had any advice. Any info would be great. thanks

My partner and I are currently planning "Our Big Fat Gay Disney Wedding" for around 100 guests at the end of September at WDW.

Yes, it's expensive, but we've wanted to do this for quite a while. Everyone with the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings team has been VERY accomodating and enthusiastic. It's been nothing but a positive experience for us. They're very willing to work with each couple to create an indivualized experience, and with three tiers of price structures, there are a lot of options!

My advice would be to contact Disney Fairy Tale Weddings and talk to them about what you're thinking to see if it's workable for you. That's the first thing we did, and it was nice to find out that it was in our reach.

And feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

I want to know about it too. Is there a website with the prices and some the options for the basics. Except I think mine will be much smaller, only a couple dozen people.

Our first stop was www.disneyweddings.com

There's a "Wish Book" function that lists sample prices (not all of which are current anymore, so be warned). It definitely helped us get an idea of budgets and required minumum spending. :scared1:

The BEST resource I've found for information regarding Disney Fairy Tale Weddings though, is the DIS. I lurk on the Wedding forum and have learned a lot from those ladies.

Again, feel free to PM me with any specific questions, and I'll try to help answer them as best I can.

Do you know if there is an e-mail address to contact the Wedding team in Disney?
I'm in the UK and have lots of questions to ask, but don't want to spend a fortune ringing the States.

Hmm. There used to be an email button labeled "Contact us" on the www.disneyweddings.com, but it's no longer there. Only the phone number is left.

They do have a "Request a DVD" page, though. Depending on when you're looking to have an event, that may answer some preliminary questions.

Also, read through some threads on the Weddings forum right here on the DIS. I can't imagine any questions they haven't covered all ready. I've never really had to post over there because they tend to have answered my questions before I think of them.

Hope that helps

Rob

I have sent off for the DVD and it should be here in 2/3 weeks.

I would really like a ceremony in Disney as I have fond memories.

I came out to my family in Animal Kingdom a few years back. I also took my partner there on our first overseas holiday last year.

We were extremely excited to find out that the Fairy Tale Weddings had opened up to the GLBT community. However, we both have small families and the pricing for the events are so expensive, we have decided against it for now. I was offered a good chance at buying DVC in 3 years or a DFTW in 10. I would rather have DVC.
