Has anyone had a Birthday Cake delivered to your Resort/Room?

Hello!

I am looking for any information anyone can give me about the possibility of having a birthday cake delivered to an on-site resort.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

We leave tomorrow - any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had an anniversary cake delivered to my parent's room when we were at the Grand Floridian in December 2001. I called the resort before we left, spoke with someone in the food part of the resort, told them I wanted a 7" cake with white chocolate buttercream filling, fondant icing and a white chocolate CInderella Castle on top. I told them when I wanted it delivered and everything was great! My parents were totally surprised and the cake was delicious! I think it was actually what they use for their wedding cakes. YUMMY! Just call your resort and ask! Good luck! Have a great trip!!!!

Make sure you verify with the resort!!! I ordered a cake for DS birthday before we left. I went to Guest Services the morning of his birthday and had to reorder the cake!!! Do you know that even after reordering the cake it never showed up???!!

Angry wasn't even close to what I was!

I didn't actually request a cake however; when we checked into the Wilderness Lodge for my husband's 38th birthday a couple of years ago I mentioned it to the cast member. The whole trip was a surprise for him; my daughter and I planned everything (she was 11 at the time) and he thought we were headed to a weekend at a Holiday Inn in NH Well, I drove him to the airport instead. Anyhow, I was so excited when we check in that I was blabbing away to the young woman and guess what...a yummy chocolate cake, balloons, and a card were delivered to our room on his birthday. He was like a BIG kid that day - little birthday badge and all. Great memories. Have fun!!

I want to know how and where to get the birthdaycakes they serve on the illuminations cruises! I got one for DS a few years ago and it was the BEST cake I've ever had. It was chocolate cake (3 layers) with rasberries and blueberries baked into the cake. Then it had a white chocolate icing with chocolate swirls and chocolate shaped as cones on top. Oh my! It was heavenly.

Thanks for all the info! This time tomorrow we'll be on our way to the airport.

I went ahead & called the Contemporary & spoke to the bakery chef there. She told me the best way would be to contact room service for a small cake once we arrive. Hopefully this works!

I'm looking forward to surprising my hubby with something little on our trip. Thanks again!

Please post how it works out at the Contemporary! We are going in June over my dh's birthday and I have to get one too and we are staying at the CR too! I hope it works out for you!

We stayed at AKL this last Dec. It was my DW birthday and I called the resort ahead of time and ordered a cake to be delivered on a specific day. It was awesome. My DW still talks about that cake.
