Has anyone had a bad expirence with the Vero Beach dinning at the DVC resort?

One time, in the Green Cabin Room I was served a martini with an onion....I had wanted an olive!!

;)

I agree completely with Dean...can't tell you the number of times I've eaten at Shutters, GCB and Sonya's.....never a bad meal, never bad service. I only wish there was a little more frequent rotation in the offerings.

Just got back from our first trip to Vero in Feb. and we had a couple of fantastic in-room dining meals, enjoyed a meal by the pool, and enjoyed the Sunday brunch. I actually thought it offered terrific meals at all levels of service for reasonable prices.

We eat on site about once a day during each trip, and I even like the crabcake sliders that they have by the pool! We have enjoyed the character meals very much too!

Wonderful food and service.

We ate by the pool everyday and the chef was wonderful in the restaurant and she doubled on the quick serve by the pool. My dd14 has a tree nut allergy and she would have chicken stips/nuggets everyday and they would use a clean batch of oil and take special precautions. She would wave and ask us way ahead what she wanted for lunch and when we ordered she would come out and give us the okay that she was on it. :thumbsup2 (she was 11 then and ordered the same food everyday, haha she would still pick c hicken everyday):rotfl:

At breakfast they would make sure pancakes were tree nut and cooked by themselves.

They were just wonderful!:thumbsup2

The all you can eat buffet at Shutters for the pirate dinner is not what you would call gourmet and is a little difficult for a vegetarian, but you are not going that night for the food, you are going for the fun and it's not like it is going to be a surprise. The staff have always been charming and the food great. (I feel like I shouldn't tell anyone this because I kind of want Vero to stay a secret hide-away known only to a select and fortunate few). Oh yes, and we once had a terrible night at the green cabin room but the drinks, snacks and service were awesome. We were just watching the Leafs fall out of the finals for the Stanley Cup. :scared1: Have a fantastic time! We always do.

The only good experiences we have had dining onsite in the past 4-5 years has been for breakfast. Seriously!

The character breakfast is really good.

The seafood buffet was very lacking in our opinion and way too expensive.

The majority of our meals are either eaten in our room or offsite.

Orchid Island Pizza is very close and very good. Captain Hirams is not too far and also very good,
