Has anyone gone to the water parks for their 'breaks'?

We'll have the UPHs. I'm considering going to blizzard beach for one day (during the "break" time from the major parks) and Typhoon Lagoon for another day.

We do the water parks for our break/swim time some of the days we are there. We usually get to the water park in the later part of the afternoon and stay for a few hours. Usually by then the crowds are thinning out. I wouldn't go to a water park every day but it's a nice way to get out of the major parks for break/swim time.

I enjoy the water parks, but I don't really consider going to them a break from the parks. In fact, we didn't even have the desire to go this past trip, and I don't think we will this time either. To really have a break away from the crowds and chaos, I prefer to head back to the resort for a nap and swim. Definetly try the water parks though if you haven't already, but as the previous poster said, make sure you are there early--once the crowds come it is really impossible to get anything done.

We have used the water parks as our break time on many trips. With a child who never napped, it was a good way to take a load off our feet, cool down, and readjust everyone's attitude for a few hours. For us, it was enough to revive our spirits so that we could go back to the parks for the evening.

I highly recommend it. More than one cranky person has been saved by some water park time! :p

After a hectic few days in the parks, Lyphoon Lagoon is a welcome change. The first time we did this, I was very reluctant as I felt like I was "missing" time in the parks, but now it is an important part of our vacations. The sun is wonderful and there always something for the kids to do while I "park it" on a lounge! You can grab a tube and drift around the creek, hit the wave pool or the slides, or just drink iced tea while readng a book! We LOVE it!!

We go to TL one day each time we visit WDW. While it isn't really a break, we find it nice to do something other than one of the parks for a day. We love it at TL. It is a beautiful setting. We love to float around in the lazy river and then go to the wave pool. We spend a little time at the slides before leaving. We prefer TL to BB mainly because of the theme. We prefer the "tropical island" to a "ski resort" We live in New England, so we don't need to see more snow!!

My husband and I adore going to BB or TL to just relax and enjoy the water. Floating on the lazy river is our idea of finally relaxing and vegging out for a few hours. We usually set aside a day to do this and sometimes include a game of mini golf if at Blizzard. We tend to get their at opening and leave around 3, go back to our room, shower, nap (very well after being in the sun all day) and then have a nice relaxing dinner. SOmetimes you just need to get away from standing on hot lines. While the heat is the same in the water parks, it just doesn't feel as hot there to us! Go ahead and try it, you'll like it. Have fun and remember SPF15 at least!!!! Lynn : )

Just back...wah!!! Went to TL on our "break" day mid-week. Stayed from 10-4. Girls had us climbing those hills the entire time riding those slides. We loved every minute of staying nice and cool and wet, BUT...we were NOT rested the next day. In fact, climbing those hills worked some different muscles and I hurt even more! That said, I wouldn't trade that day...it was one of our favorites. Maybe if you only stayed a few hours?
