Has anyone gone to Bistro de Paris lately?

I am wondering, as it looks like they have changed their prix fix menu, as well as on Disney's official website they say there's no children's menu there.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal there a few years back, and had the chef menu with wine pairings, where you chose the number of courses, and they did have a children's menu as well (for my DD this was nice, although her salad was too "fancy" for her taste).

I looked at allears.net and it looks a bit different. Maybe they still have the other options, I don't know. Just thinking maybe we'd go there again.

We went last month and it was a wonderful experience. The Prix Fix menu is still available. I suspect that the offerings on it change according to what the Chef thinks is good from season to season.

As far as the child's menu goes, no they didn't have one when we went. They appear to be trying to attract the "couple without children" market with this restaurant.

Expect your meal to be superb and service to be attentive but not intrusive or rushed.

2 had prix fixe and 2 off the menu in Jan.
3 yr old had something from downstairs.
They were willing to accomodate anything on the menu to the 3yr old but she's still in the pbj,chicken strip,fries mode.

They don't have a children's menu but if you ask they will bring a children's menu from Chefs de France. I still don't recommend it for little children.

They might as well have a children's menu since,as TDC Nala says, you can order off the childrens menu from the Chefs D' France. There were a good # of children in the restaurant when we ate there back in October....

Our experience as well in October, Uncle R. To each his or her own but I really don't understand why people bring small children to Bistro. We're hoping for a more quiet meal when we try Bistro again this fall.

My kids have always loved great dining. Matter of fact, when they were toddlers, we often went too Sunday Brunch at the Ritz, and they always loved it (often sitting for over 2 or even 3 hours, happily eating and coloring). I think on vacation, we especially enjoy nice meals as a family.

I know that Victoria and Alberts now doesn't offer any children's pricing, so I guess folks wanting a truly adult experience can go there. We probably spent about as much as you would there when we dined at Bistro! I am not thrilled by that place, only since I don't want to bring really dressy clothes and blazer for my DH and DS to Disneyworld as it's just too much luggage!

I guess Bistro did away with their own children's menu, as last time it was not the one at Chefs.

For both my kids, the first time they were in a really nice restaurant, they were each 3 weeks old! I never had babysitters much when they were little, so they learned how to behave (we even used to get compliments on their nice behavior out). I discovered also that when they were dressed up, they behaved better! You would definitely not be annoyed by my kids (now, my nieces were another story, my Dsil used to let them wander the restaurant, and my DH and I were really annoyed!!!).

I think that's great and if your kids can actually sit through that kind of experience without disrupting your meal or anyone else's then I would never complain about them being there. Unfortunately I think, based on our experiences, that you are in the minority.

Honestly, what puzzles me is why anyone would knowingly take their children into a restaurant that doesn't provide a children's menu in the first place. To me it's like setting your kids up for failure before even being seated for the meal. There are so many other options at WDW that are equally as nice that do provide menus for children that I'm not sure why people don't do those instead.

Anyway, don't want to turn your thread into a kids v. no-kids debate. Just know that we've dined at Bistro a couple of times since 2007 - the fixed price menu does seem to change on a seasonal basis, which is nice. We've done that before and the last time we were there we ordered ala' carte and thought it was wonderful - great food and service. Hope you enjoy your next meal there as much as we did.

Thanks! I do think it's a wonderful find, away from the hectic pace sometimes!

I am glad to hear their set menu (pre fix?) is still there. It's a great way to try some nice courses.
