Has anyone gone over to the Atlantis Casino?

My husband and father-in-law would love to go over and play a few rounds of poker while we are in Nassau.

I know they can catch a cab over to Atlantis on their own but can anyone go into their casino and play? I wouldn't mine just seeing the hotel.

thanks!

You can just catch a cab. You can see atlantis when the ship docks in Nassau. Looks beautiful from a distance..we just didn't have time to check it out a couple weeks ago.

You can go into the resort and gamble for free..if you want to do anything else...we were told there is a fee of $25.

Enjoy!

We went earlier this month. The cab will take you to the front door of the Atlantis for $4 per person plus $1 toll fee.

We did not play any of the games, but did walk through the casino. We just walked around and explored on our own.

You don't get to go into the Dig, but there are aquariums that you can see. We walked around the grounds, but didn't make it to the pool area. Note that things aren't marked very well. We got turned around a few times. I could have spent hours just looking at the beauty of the resort, but the kids were tired.

Let them gamble and have their fun. It is a sight you must see.

You can catch a cab for $4 per person and you can negotiate the toll.

There are no fees to walk around parts of the grounds, shopping areas and casinos. The children cannot stop to watch the games but can walk through the casino. You can buy you own entrance to the dig, it is different type of aquarium. To swim in the pools you will need to book a room.

You can use the casino. My DW played a short while on the slot machines while I too the kids to see other parts. My DW got lucky with the slots, she brought $10 (they accept and pay in US dollars) and came out with $30 extra. The joke in the house is that mom won to pay for the round trip cab fare... :p

Yes anyone can gamble (if you are 21 yr old that is). You do not have to be a resort guest to gamble. They are happy to take anyone's money! LOL. The casino is rather quiet during the day, which is when you will be there. The Atlantis Resort is a breathtaking beauty both inside and out!!!

the gambling age in nassau is 18 yrs old. my son who is 19 is excited to be able to go over to atlantis to "gamble" on his own". wait till he loses alll his money, i bet he won't think its so great then. on the other hand he may just turn out to be lucky and come back with enough money for another cruise.:)

:sunny: Tigger53 my son is 18 and wants to gamble to. He did ask if he had to use his money. I said YES. Bet he dosent spend much because it is his. I am kind of excited to see it to. I love the slots. I told him to enjoy because when we get back to the states he has to wait till he is 21.

Thank you for all of your quick responses! My father-in-law was disappointed there was not a casino on the ship but going to the Atlantis should be a fun dad/son trip in Nassau.

I, personally, would love to just stay on the boat but think I might hop over and look around for an hour or two with the kids. Is the "dig" the pool area that you have to stay at the hotel or the Comfort Suites to use, or can you pay to go into that area. Or is it the aquarium you can pay to look at? I never have been able to figure out which is which and what is worth seeing if you choose not to get a room at either resorts.

thanks again, Marley

The Dig is the aquarium. You have to pay to get into the Dig. They will give you a color wrist band so that you can go in.

Hi We went over to Paradise Island via cab (4.00 per person & be prepared for a wild ride!) The guys went in the casino & lost about 40 bucks but they had fun. You can't go on the beach @ Atlantis unless you are staying at their hotel. We were able to view the upstairs aquarium free. I t was very nice, lots of colorful fish & stingrays. The boys (ages 16 & 12 enjoyed it). We looked in a few of the shops, very elegant but expensive. The boys & I wanted to see the beach so we took a walk, (about a half mile) to the beach behind the Sheraton. You have to walk up a path through some woods & down a hill before you see the beach. It was very pretty, but the locals keep bugging you to buy stuff. (Also the area is not accessible for wheelchair users>>rough terrain). We decided to go back to the ship before the guys so we grabbed another cab & another wild ride...this time the taxi van hit two vehicles before we got out & never stopped! Well, we were glad to be back on the boat & it was one of those been there done that deals. The best beach ever is Castaway Cay & we had a great day there! I think the aquarium was worth the trip & if you like casinos, the guys said the Atlantis casino was nice. Enjoy your cruise!! Cathie & The Gang:boat: :grouphug: :jumping1:

Do you tip the cab drivers like you normally would in the States on top of the $4 per person?

Under normal circumstances I probably would have, but after that ride back:scared: Cathie
