Has anyone every stayed at BLT studios with 5 people( 2adults, 2children, 1 infant)?

if you want to experience BLT - then go for it - we just got back from an 8night trip to BLT - with 5 in a studio - and we had a great time - youngest was in pack & play - i also have two teens - b/g - who weren't going to share the fold out - so one used a blow up mattress each night - and we were fine - what we did was move chairs under lr table - move hassock under the tv table - put the mattress at the end of the bed - and the pack & plan moved into an open spot after the teens watched tv (we put the baby in after he went to sleep - it worked & they were fine with it - we offered a bigger room but they wanted the monorail & also the walk to MK - they were able to get to a park on marathon day - were able to get to rope drop multiple days - so for them & us it didn't matter - as long as we moved the mattress daily - and closed the pack & play - we were fine - we were w/in the number of people in the room - though used beds differently - and had a great time -

Where you able to use a twin size blow up? We have a boy and girl who really don't want to share the pull out. It fit in front of the queen bed?

Our 2yo slept in the bed with dh and I. She wouldn't have slept in a pnp with us in the room. Our two sons slept on the pull out. We requested that the pnp be removed from the room so it didn't take up so much space in the closet.

My wife and I just stayed in room 8140 (studio). We are Old key West owners and have stayed at Animal Kingdom, Vero Beach, Hilton Head as well.
The Bay Lake Towers Stueio was the tiniest we have ever been in and my wife and I could not even comfortably pass one another in the hallway leading to the kitchenette.

We were scoping it out to see if it would be large enough for our grandaughter, daughter & her husband and another infant soon to be born. The queen bed in the studio can not be moved because it is surrounded by a wooden frame affair that is attached to end tables. If the sleeper couch is pulled out I can't see where you would put a pack n play for your infant except out by the entry door where there is a small alcove for the door that adjoins the 1bedroom unit next door. We are owners at Old Key West and the square footage of the studio there is 390 sq ft vs 339 at BLT. That gives you another 51 sq ft which would make fitting in a pak n play for your infant a lot more comfortable.
We also thought we might select the BLT because of its closeness to the Magic Kingdom for my 2 year old grand daughter, however it is not as close as it seems timewise. It is a 10 - 12 minute walk to the Magic Kingdom that you won't want to do if it rains. There is no bus service between the Contemporary/BLT and the Magic Kingdom. You need to take the monorail to the Magic Kingdon so you must take an elevator to the 5th floor of the BLT and then walk across a walkway to the Contemporary then up and escalator to the monorail. This process will take you about 5-10 minutes
Then (suprise)the monorail travels in the opposite direction from the Magic Kingdom making a stop at the Transportation & Ticket CEnter, the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian before coming almost full circle and arriving at the Magic Kingdom. The monrorail trip will probably take you at least 15 minutes depending on how many people board along the way. So the total time from room to Magic Kingdom will be 15 - 20 minutes. The only time the trip between the Magic Kingdom and the resort is quick is on the return trip from the Magic Kingdom because you board the monorail and then the BLT & Contemporary are the first stop because of the direction the monorail travels in. After realizing that the BLT will not be as physically convenient as it appears we timed a few of the bus routes between the Magic Kingdom and Old Key West & Animal KIngdom and the travel times are usually about 20-25 minutes. Animal Kingdom Kidani Village studios are 366 Sq Ft and Old Key West is 390 Sq Ft. We may be sacrificing the view of the Magic Kingdom but if we get into the Anima Kingdom Kidani Lodge they will have more space and the Animals for the children to watch. I hope this information helps you make a decision.

My daughter babysits for a family who has 3 little ones and they have done a studio with pnp several times at BLT. They have stayed at many resorts and keep going back to BLT because of location. It worked just fine for them.

As far as distance to MK I thought the walk was a breeze! We went with friends last year and and on the way out they choose to walk back and DH and I took the monorail. We had no wait for the monorail, got off went back to the room and our friends were already back, settled in. I was surprised they beat us but after walking it a few times I see why! Have fun.

Also keep in mind that even though the studio at BLT looks comparable to the BWV studios, that much of the square footage is taken up by the hall, bath, and kitchenette areas. The actual sleeping space is only about 180 square feet of that, which is a disproportionately small amount of space for the bedroom area. A Value room is 260 square feet including the bathroom, so the sleeping area is probably about the same as a BLT studio's sleeping area, but the BLT studio only has one queen bed and a sofa sleeper. Here's a floor plan where you can see the layout. I love BLT, but think the studios are not very comfortable for more than two people. Really cramped, IMO.

air mattress wasnt bad - as long as we closed up the fold out & put the air mattress up during the day - it was a great room (and even at night we were fine) - like blt posters said - it's a great resort to experience - and if you want to go there - you just make it work the best you can - you really can't beat the closeness to mk

All valid points no question..... but...... I've never waited 45 minutes for a monorail to show up. I have at least once (usually more) over the course of the week at every other disney resort when using the busses. I have never had a monorail arrive with no room on it.... I have when using busses.

Just something to consider.

We arrived from Epcot on the monorail and got to the TTC to catch the monorail to the MK. Only the MK loop was shut down. Completely. So everyone was directed to buses and to the ferry. And the lines were awful. Even the resort monorails were shut down and I never found out why. It took at least an hour of waiting and riding the ferry to get to the MK from the TTC.

Oh, and gmi3804, that is a great image of the studio. It really does show how much space is used by the hallway, bathroom and kitchenette.

We just got back from a stay in a studio at BLT...while it looks nice, it is small. Even with just the two of us, I felt a little confined. My daughter and her family had gone down a few days earlier, and I reserved a one bedroom for them. It was beautiful and very spacious. I probably wouldn't stay in a studio at BLT again because of the lack of space.
I hope no one has to go to the bathroom during the night...could be an issue.

You are lucky then. I've had that happen more than once.
