Has anyone ever stayed at BLT studio with 5 people. We are thinking of staying there in December. We are 2 adults, 2 nine year olds and a 2 1/2 year old. I keep hearing that the studios are very small and not enough room for that many people. We really want to stay close to MK because of the 2 year old. Financially we can not do a 1 bedroom. Please post your experiences with that many people.
Thank you so much for any information

We always stay with two adults and two kids. If you don't mind having the baby sleep with the kids, because I think the sofa bed is bigger than it can work. They can give you a pack n play and you set it up by the tv near the bathroom. Once you pull the sofa bed out there is limited space between the sofa bed and the regular bed. I think you could manage it if you need too.

No different than any other standard 2 Queen Bed Hotel room. It is doable, but just really for sleeping. I wouldn't want to more than one to two days max but we are spoiled. I never had a room any bigger than a standard hotel room the whole time I was a kid and we always loved our vacations (mom, dad, me, three sisters).

It depends on what you are used to. Our first stay as DVC members was for 4 nights in a BLT studio. Our kids were ages 4 and 6. Prior to buying at BLT we had stayed at the Poly 3x, the GF, and Wilderness Lodge. Standard rooms at the Poly and GF are huge compared to a BLT studio. So we felt very cramped and now will only stay at BLT in a 1 BR.

However if you are used to staying at Disney moderates and/or values, the BLT studio probably won't feel as small. Many, many people stay at Pop Century with 4 plus a baby under age 3. Those rooms are definitely smaller than a BLT studio.

We had 3 adults in a BLT studio...never again. You might want to look at renting points at Old Key West for a studio or even a one bedroom.

It will be tight--we stayed with 4 and for two nights. We managed. However, I agree that it depends on what you are used to in terms of the space.

I would certainly plan to keep the sofa bed closed except when you are actually going to bed and that will give you a bit more room to move around--but when it is open, there is very little room.

Being a BLT fan, however, I have to say if you are okay with being in smaller rooms, the location can't be beat!!!

I really love the location and really want to make it work for the 5 of us. We are used to staying at either the Value or moderate resorts. I have never have stayed in a deluxe resort.

We didn't actually stay at the resort you mentioned but just came back from over 1 week vacation at multiple studios - BWV, VB & HH. 2 adults, DS16, DD10 and could easily have had a 2 1/2 in the pack 'n play. Personally I would only open it when needed. I'm sure you will have enough room and a magical vacation.:thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!!

The problem I would have is at bedtime, everyone having to go to sleep at the same time........ I have stayed 5 in a room, and that was the worst part. I like to stay up.

Well, that and having only one bathroom for 5 people. (older kids would use the bathroom in the lobby for emergencies! Not joking.)

Those are all larger rooms than the BLT.

We're 3 staying in a BLT studio for 6 nights over spring break & I'm hoping I'm not ready to kill someone by the the end of the 6 nights. We stayed 3 nights in a Value studio at AKV once & I wasn't thrilled with having to climb all over everything & no place to put anything & no floor space...the BLT studio IS bigger than a cabin on DCL tho so I guess we'll survive. After touring the BLT models though I would NOT try to put 5 people of any size / age. I would consider VWL tho as those studios are bigger and still convenient to MK.

You cannot compare them to the HHI studios or VB Inn rooms which are both HUGE.

the bathroom for the studios is huge. the living area is tiny. so the pack and play would have to go back near the bathroom - in the area close to the lockout door for the 1-bedroom. there is no other place for it.

now it does have room for storage - if you take everything out of your luggage and put your clothes away in the drawers. (it also helps if you luggage is the fold up type)

then put the luggage in the closet.

now the only problem (besides being tiny) you might have is if the baby cries at night - if that could be a problem - then you want on the queen bed near the wall. so you can get up and out at night.

when the sleeper sofa is open and it takes up quiet alot of the space - it is hard to walk in that area.

now I love studios - stay in them all the time.

the studios at BLT were designed wrong and the 1-bedroom is much bigger - would not be surprised if it was if the intention to make the studio smaller so more dvc members would stay in a 1-bedroom.

too bad we all don't have the money and points to do that.

Will be doing just that tomorrow.

I think it all depends on the specific people involved. We'd all love more space, but we've also been perfectly happy in a regular hotel room all together and we do spend time in the room.

Our kids are 2, 4 & 7. I'll let you know how it goes.

That would be great!!!! Any information, tips, etc... would greatly be appreciated!!!!
Thank you, thank you!!

I can't imagine spending money or points for a BLT studio and being cramped in one little studio with five people. To me, not any way to spend a WDW vacation.

With the age of your little one, it will be great to be on the monorail and to be that close to MK. I would just pack light and try to keep your stuff really organized to make the most of the space. Good luck...

We are back from our trip and I just wanted to update you. It is tight in the studio and I did regret not having booked the 1BR at the time we decided to go. That having been said, it is definitely doable. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. Being right next to MK was awesome. If I had to choose between the studio at BLT or a larger room at any other resort, I'd still go with the studio.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Where did you end up putting the pack and play? Or did you have the two year old sleep somewhere different?
Thanks so much for the information

if you want to experience BLT - then go for it - we just got back from an 8night trip to BLT - with 5 in a studio - and we had a great time - youngest was in pack & play - i also have two teens - b/g - who weren't going to share the fold out - so one used a blow up mattress each night - and we were fine - what we did was move chairs under lr table - move hassock under the tv table - put the mattress at the end of the bed - and the pack & plan moved into an open spot after the teens watched tv (we put the baby in after he went to sleep - it worked & they were fine with it - we offered a bigger room but they wanted the monorail & also the walk to MK - they were able to get to a park on marathon day - were able to get to rope drop multiple days - so for them & us it didn't matter - as long as we moved the mattress daily - and closed the pack & play - we were fine - we were w/in the number of people in the room - though used beds differently - and had a great time -
