Has anyone ever walked from...

OKW to SSR? Just wanted to know about how long a walk and if the path is well lighted. Staying at SSR at the end of march and thinking of pool hopping to OKW ....I know the boat runs between the 2 resorts but If it is walkable my family likes to walk.

In Nov. we walked from OKW to SSR to go to the spa. I think it was about a 15 minute walk...along the golf course and very lovely and relaxing. Only a section of the path is lit at night so I have read that it is NOT a good walk after dark. I would note that our GV at OKW was in BLDG 49 so we were at the back of the resort which gave us a pretty good head start on the walk to SSR (in other words, to walk to the main pool at OKW for your pool hopping, you might need to add a few minutes to our walk time)

It's a very nice walk! We walk all the way to DTD every time we stay at OKW. We also like the shorter walk from SSR to DTD. I agree, though, you don't want to do the OKW-SSR walk after dusk! (...and watch out for those golf carts! )

It's also a quick bike ride . . . ten to fifteen minutes.

We walked it once and then went onto DTD and it was quite a pleasant walk. You also get a pretty good view of the old treehouses along the way. If I remember it took us about 20 to 25 minutes but we were taking our time and stopping along the way and even stopped to talk to one of the golf course rangers parked along the pathway...smjj

The path goes to DTD and comes out down by HOB's and the circus(can't spell it but you know what I am talking about. There is a path to SSR before you get there that you take. It goes across a small bridge. If you were to walk from OKW to DTD with no stops or detours you should be able to get there in 15 to 20 minutes...smjj

Caskbill has posted reports about the various distances between DVC resorts and othe locations. The walk from OKW to DD and SSR are included.

It's 0.93 miles from Building 55 at OKW to DD and SSR is about the same distance. It's a very pleasant walk on a paved walkway along the Trumbo canal.
