This will be my DP's FIRST trip and I was thinking about using them to make it EXTRA special! Just curious what the feedback on them is...the website seems impressive. I guess, I just want her to LOVE Disney as much as me....I so want her first experience to be an incredible memory!

I haven't used them. My friend has had them organize some scavenger/treasure hunt type things for her family and she has nothing but good things to say! She has 4 kids from ages 9-20.

For us, I couldn't think of anything to be the "treasures" during the hunt. You have to purchase whatever little surprises there are along the way, and I am just not good at coming up with things. And since it is just the 3 of us (me, DH and DS) it seemed like it would be kind of boring. :confused3

I did read on another thread where somebody was irritated because Gifts of a Lifetime seemed like they wanted the customer to already have an idea of what they wanted. That poster wanted them to present her with a list of options and guide her step by step, and she felt like they weren't doing that. Maybe just poor communication between the customer and the service provider.

I would contact them and see what they can suggest, or ask them if they can put together whatever you had in mind. :)

Thanks! I went to the website and filled out the form...we'll see what happends. I too was hoping that THEY would have ideas. This is my DP's first trip and I wanted some PIXI DUST sprinkled her way....:wizard:

I hope you come up with something terrific!
Looks like we will be there at the same time! Maybe we will have a chance to say hello! :)

I know what you mean about wanting her to love Disney as much as you do. When I took the wife for the first time a couple of years ago I made a few special arrangements in advance.

She *loves* chocolate covered strawberries (with white chocolate!), so I arranged to have some waiting for us in our room, complete with a solid white chocolate mickey mouse sprinkled with gold dust! :goodvibes The funny thing was that they hadn't arrived when we first checked into our room, and we were doing the typical first day stuff such as purchasing our refillable mugs, etc. Well, we went to the Boardwalk Bakery to get our mugs, and wouldn't you know, they had her little platter of white chocolate covered strawberries sitting in the work area! I spotted them right away and tried to distract her, but she was having nothing of that. Immediately she started in on how good they looked, and could you purchase them there, etc. etc. I had to drag her out of there! :rotfl2: A couple of hours later we went back to our room and they were waiting for us on the counter -- along with a little love note from me welcoming her to "the World." :lovestruc She then realized that she had been lusting after *her own* strawberries earlier and we had a good laugh over that.

A couple of mornings later I had made reservations for the Segway tour in the World Showcase. She didn't know anything about that, either, and it was such fun to show her my favorite park that way! :cloud9:

I also know her taste in food, so I made some reservations that were sure to please her palate.

All in all, we had some pretty special moments, and I'm sure they contributed to her response to Disney in general.

She just reminded me that I also made sure that every morning when she woke up I had already gotten her coffee from the bakery. :lovestruc What can I say -- I love her.

Honestly, soulmates, I think you would be better off using the budget you have set aside for Gifts of a Lifetime to create special memories throughout your trip. I'd love to help you brainstorm. ;)

I booked the segway tour for my wife's birthday. We had such a good time! We want to do the FW version now.

The strawberries are nice too. Yep. Had those for her birthday too. Our ConcKahuna made the entire stay wicked special and I filled in with little treats here and there.

I know it might sound silly, but WDW does incredible cakes. You could have one made that says "Welcome to WDW!" :teeth:

Trust me. They are so worth it!

Jane of GOAL helped set up a great surprise for my SO several Christmas' ago. Yes, I was in the process of trying to "convert" her to Disney magic and it worked.

We had gone to the dinner and the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Eve and when we got back to the room it was completly decorated for the holiday with a 3 foot tree, Christmas lights around the window and head boards and even pixie dust leading from the door to the tree. I had sent wrapped gifts to Jane which she put around the tree.

It was one of our most special holidays and I highly recommend Jane's services.

My DW and I are going to WDW in Jan and its my bday but her first trip. I too am trying to show her how magical it can be because of course I want to go back! I filled out the questionnaire for GOAL and I am waiting to hear back from them. I have also been checking out The Disney Florists. She is not really into flowers or anything "girlie" thats more me! But they do have some cool things like pirate hats and treasure.

Great suggestions everyone!! And DVCajun, I think you and your girl need to come over and help me brainstorm one night when she's at work!!! We'll open some wine and have alot of laughs!! I think I'd rather do those "Little Things" that I KNOW she will appreciate....only the things I know about her. Great chocolate covered strawberry idea!! You ARE a romantic at heart! You know, this friendship was meant to be, Mickey brought us together!!!:flower3:

I just heard back from gifts of a lifetime. They had 2 really great ideas. One would be perfect for my wife. I know its a lot to spend but she isnt really the romantic type so I may go with this idea. Im glad you have found some ideas that will work for you. I would much rather spend the money in little bits here and there but she just wont go for the romance. So I guess I am gonna be out a chunk of change! GOOD LUCK with your trip. When are you going??
