Has anyone ever traded a booked DVC vacation for points?

Hello all,

My family and I have a standard view one-bedroom booked at BWV for December 16 - December 30 (14 nights). This is 451 points. My husband just switched jobs and we will not be able to go this year. If we don't use most of these points in our current use year, they will be lost since most of them were banked from our last use year.

Would another member be willing to take over this reservation and just transfer 451 of their bankable points to our account. There would be no money changing hands...just points for a reservation.

I know this is a weird request, but questions are free, right? I really don't want to rent the points, since I really, really WANT my points, just not this year...

You might want to break it down to two seperate vacations(16-23, 23-30), try the rental board and rent out each vacation for $2000 each($9 per point). You should be able to find someone that is interested.

We may just end up cancelling the vacation and using the points for a 3 or 4 day Disney Cruise. He should be able to get away for THAT long at least.

We loved our 3 day Disney Cruise as well as the 4 day member cruise, that would be an excellent alternative! I hope he can get away!
