My husband has piles of football and basketball trading cards from the late 70s/early 80s. I'm seeing $$$$$$ for our upcoming WDW trips. Any clue where/how to sell them? I really don't want to do EBay - there are way too many cards to list. I'm hoping for a place where I can just do a lump sale. I have no idea if they are worth anything - where do I start?

my dh uses ebay he lists some of the cards seperate at times other times he just does a lot. like 100 count box of baseball cards he seems to do prety good.

We have a few Sport Card Shops around here. Are there any in your area? If there are - try taking a few to one and see if they'll buy them. DH has many boxes & binders of mostly baseball cards. I used to threaten to torch them ;) until I bought him one! I used to say that was how our children were going to go to college. But we haven't had to use them for that yet.

Funny story.......

I can vividly remember when I was younger and my brother's room was covered wall to wall with baseball, basketball, etc. cards...my mother would, every so often, go through the room with a trashbag in hand.

When I started dating DH, he gave my younger brother a complete set of basketball cards for the year: 1984!!!!!! Micheal Jordan's rookie year....

That card would be worth A LOT of money now..............

Jenn-DH has the same thing! Lots & lots of cards. We've had them looked at and some are worth more $$$ than others. As of yet, dh hasn't worked too hard to find a place to turn them into cash.

Good Luck!

Does HE want to sell them? I have only a few "key" collectible cards that I have stored for my DS with other sports memoribilia/autographed baseballs, hockey pucks/sticks etc. If my DW were to even think about selling them to pay for a tip without consulting with me I'd flip. You may want to check with him, especially if you don't know what they are worth...you could get taken for a ride by a "pro" card trader.

I rememember growing up and making HUGE card houses out of baseball cards.

We had it down to a science - we would spend all afternoon during the summer building houses 20+ stories tall (try it you'll see how hard it is). Then we'd race matchbox cars into them and watch them fall.

Man that was a lot of fun. I don't know where the cards are now, but wow, we must have had like 2 suitcases full of them.
