I have been planning my 1st trip to the Fort and was wondering about the little 2 seat boats they rent. I would like to take my 3 year old daughter around the lake, has anyone had experience with these? Thanks in advance.

I am sure your daughter would enjoy the ride. I believe they run about $45.00, give or take, for a half our jaunt. They also rent pontoon boats if you prefer to take the whole family for a cruise on the lake. ;)

Yes we have rented them everytime we go to the fort. They are called Water Mice and they only go about 20 MPH but they are small so it feels faster. My kids named that as their favorite thing they did at WDW.

Yes! We've rented the Sea Raycers (used to be called Water Mice)! They are a lot of fun! :goodvibes

Another yes here :thumbsup2 It's a FW tradition for us. Lots of fun. Be careful doing donuts, they can stall out...don't ask me how I know :rolleyes1

Too funny TCM!:rotfl2: I too noticed that.
It's a tradition for us too. They are very slow but we love cruising in front of MK. Have fun!

You might want to consider taking the boat over to the Contemporary and renting over there. Their marina is a lot closer to the MK and if you're renting for only a 1/2 hour and wanted to head that way (most people do) it'll save some valuable time.

Titans Fan has a really good point, if you want to go see the MK, you'll probably want to start from the Contemporary. You have to pass through the no wake zone on the way to the MK, and that can slow you down just a bit, enought to cut into a 1/2 hour trip at least.

And have fun, they are the best! It's been a while since I've been on them, but I swear this November if it's not too cold I'm renting one!

We went on one in June and with tax it was $40 for an hour. Half hour was Like 23 plus tax I think. It was fun and we had time to get all over from FW to a spina round Bat lake with time to spare. We weren't going very fast as we were 2 bigger people in it, yes we exceeded the 325 pound weight limit for passengers. We didn't see that until we were well out into the lake, but we didn't sink anyway. hahaha With lighter weight people or a child and an adult it would go pretty decent. The trek through the canal is a no wake so it does take some time, which is why we opted for the hour ride. We would do it again in a minute and will next summer, but only one of us in it at a time...lol:lmao:

 You know- you would think they would mention that when you rent the little suckers. Me and my "little" brother rented one and we topped out at about 4 mph. All 425 pounds of us. We also did not notice the weight restrictions until we had wedged ourselves in and were on our way.
