I've never seen one. When we go, Mickey's Philharmagic is a walk-in, so never a need for a fast pass.

Yea, several times actually. Last time it was philharmagic and of all things, Carousel of progress. I think they are doing it to draw people to some of the less busy attractions.

Neato! I really love Philharmagic so I'm never sad that it's a walk-on. Same with CoP. But if it gets people in there to enjoy it, I'm all for it. Yay :)

I used to get surprise fastpasses fairly frequently. I don't remember getting them in recent trips. The ones we received were for shows. I remember a surprise fastpass for Philharmagic and, I think some other shows. I do not believe we ever received a FastPass for an attraction.

Yes. They are never for anything that actually requires a FP.

When they pop out for Space, I'll be excited.

I like to insist upon using my fastpass even if there isn't a line. We were at MK last week and the line for JC was 45 minutes. We decided to get fastpasses and come back later. When we came back, the wait was 5 minutes (walk on, really) and I went to the fastpass line and the CM was like "You know this will save you like... 30 seconds, right?"

We had the exact same scenario on our last trip with JC.

We got philharmagic passes twice the same morning last trip - once with our PP passes and once with our Pooh passes. I gave all of them to our ds to play with since he wanted the real fast passes. He's two, so the real ones were not going to happen!

They've been doing this for a couple of years now. It's basically to increase awareness of underutilized attractions by at least making the guests believe they won't have to wait (it's true, they just don't need the Fastpass :) ). PhilharMagic and Carousel of Progress are the usual targets. Winnie The Pooh and Peter Pan seem to give them out the most.

Interesting factoid: They once planned to get the FP kiosks to spit out coupons for the quick service locations to help drive food sales. They obviously didn't roll it out to the public, but when they tested it at one point, instead of issuing a coupon, it actually issued a Fastpass for one of the counter services at DHS (Studio Catering I think). Now I think THAT would be useful sometimes :) I wonder if that will be an xPASS feature... ;)

I never got a CoP one. Did you get it at Peter Pan? I'm guessing PP because I never get FPs for that. I'm the only person on the DIS who doesn't like it. :)

What I want to know is why Philharmagic needs it? I love, love, love, Philharmagic, we usually do it at least twice, sometimes 3 or 4 times a trip. CoP I can understand needing to get people to the back of Tomorrowland, but I wonder why Philharmagic isn't more popular?

Yeah we have gotten them for Philharmagic and Carousel of Progress. Never used them though...

It may not be that it needs it in general, but that it doesn't reach full capacity because the capacity is so large, so it could always "eat" more guests as they say.

I got the CoP at Buzz, I think they hand them out for the rides close to the popular attractions.
