Has anyone ever made ADR's and then get there to find out they don't exist?

Okay so I admit it I am a compulsive worrier. I am interested to know if anyone has ever made ADR's and then got to the restaurant to find out that they have magically disappeared. I am on free dining in Sep. and taking my dad for the first time. I want everything to be perfect. I made ADR's 180 days out and I have all the confirmation #'s. I really wish you could check them online. I just didn't know if losing reservations has ever happened to anyone. Thanks for any feedback!

have seen posted that yes it has happened but show up with id that shows you are the one who made the reservation and the credit card you booked with (if you had to use one to guarantee/prepay), and your confirmation number. An old thread where this happened said that upon providing the id/confirmation, they were accomidated as if the reservation was there. Sometimes there are reservations with same name leading to confusion causing some to get cancelled. Like last year when I checked in I asked for a print out of my ressies/confirmation #'s (though I can't remember if the #s were printed on it) and there were 3 reservations listed for after I checked out and we finally figured out that there was another guest with same name. i had almost cancelled those reservations. A recent poster said the same thing had happened to her where the other guest had cancelled all her ressies. Double check between now and your trip. Good luck. it definitely isn't something that happens often.

I have never had a problem with any of my ADR's. They have always been there for the day and times I booked. I am going in August during free dining. I did call a CM the other day to check on them. She read off all the reservations and times for me and everything was listed correctly.

I've never had a problem with Disney losing my ADR's (and this will be my third trip during free dining.) I always call and confirm my reservations ahead of time. Just a couple of weeks ago I called to check on them, and Disney still had some reservations listed that I had cancelled. This was only worrisome to me since I had booked others in their place, and I know that during such a busy period, they may cancel reservations if you've double-booked. As it turns out, they had not cancelled the ones that I wanted, and they finally did cancel the ones that I did not want. If I were you, I would call and confirm just to put your mind at ease.

This happened to me too. I had called to confirm once before and they still had several ADRS listed that I had cancelled. The CM I had that day was very good. When I called back again to check everything was all set.

Yes, it happened to me last year. I made my reservations on different days and for some reason a group of them that I had made on a particular day were completely gone.

I found out trying to change one of them. When I called to cancell it and make a new one my reservation did not exist. That made me check the other reservations I had made and the whole bunch I had made one particular day were completely gone. I don't know if the CM never recorded them or if there was something wrong with the system. But it did happen.

So yesterday I called to doublecheck all my reservations and it looks like they are ok, but since then everytime I walk in in a restaurant I am afraid I am going to be told: sorry but we have nothing under that name/number. (it has not happened for now).

I would just call and make sure everything was ok.

Call and confirm! I recommend doing it maybe 2 months before the trip and a week before the trip, too! Now I would have thought this was overkill, but I just got off the phone with Disney Dining, and my ADRs were messed up! They had us down for 9:30 PM instead of AM on the day we leave. Obviously, that was not my mistake, because we'll be home at 9:30 that night, and even if we were there, we would never eat dinner at 9:30pm with a toddler!

Anyway, it takes a few minutes to confirm and you get a lot of piece of mind!

...the first day you get there. Then you can compare what's in their system with what you recorded/brought from home and clear up any discrepancies right away...maybe a TRIPLE-check!! That's what I plan on doing thanks to the advice of a cast member when I called to make some ressies. Good luck! princess:

Last year I called to confirm a week before we left and upon arriving got a print out. Everything was fine. but a 2 different Restaurants they did not have us in the computer. I had my conformation numbers with me and everything was taken care of, but always carry your conformation numbers with you.

Always take your confirmation numbers with you and call Disney Dining to check them. I called yesterday to make a few more reservations and had the CM double check my other ones too. He couldn't find the other ones in the system. For some reason they don't ask for your confirmation numbers, they ask for your phone number. When I gave him the number, nothing came up. So I gave him my cell number then my husband's cell number. Nada there either. So I said let me give you my confirmation numbers. He found them all then. The previous ones had the wrong home phone by one digit. So he changed them all to match. I'm not sure why they don't ask for your confirmation number in the first place. I guess some people don't keep them?:confused3

Yes, once....at Hollywood brown derby...the 2nd time we'd tried to eat there.

The FIRST time we tried, on our Honeymoon, they had closed the place for a special event...and claimed they called us (which, they had.....2 days after we'd arrived at WDW....leaving a message on our HOME phone! :) ) to cancel our ADR and find us another. They ended up moving us to the 50's Prime Time Cafe, paying for our meal, AND giving us the Fantasmic Dinner Pass (we were NOT on the Dinner package) to make it right.

But, back to the lost ADR. We went back in 2001, determined to try our luck again. Got there and....no ADR listed. Luckily, we too are super-planners, and we had our list of ADR confirmation #'s with us. They checked the number and saw that it had somehow gotten cancelled JUST that very morning. Nobody was sure how. So the host just told us we'd get the very next available table....just as if we'd had an ADR...and we did, about 5 to 10 min later.

I think, so long as you carry those confirmation #'s with you...you'll be OK. There might be some mixup, but that number will pretty much assure you get your table/spot.
