Has anyone ever eaten at La Cantina de San Angel?

Was it good? It is a counter service isn't it? I heard that there are views maybe? Thanks for any info!

We ate there last Sept and shared Nachos between three of us. It was really big and good. We ate around 11:30 and easily grabbed shady table by the lagoon. I'm looking foward to go back for those yummy nachos.

I used to enjoy it but went back a couple of weeks ago for the first time since they redid it and we were really disappointed. They used to serve rice & beans with their meals and now serve Tostitos like tortilla chips with no salsa or anything. Just chips. :confused3 The chicken tacos were dry and boring. Also, there is no longer enough seating for all the patrons. We had to walk all the way down to a park bench in Norway before we could find a place to eat. We'll be skipping it from now on. The only thing that anyone liked was the margaritas.

Just had their nachos a few weeks ago- three of us shared and there was plenty! We did share a table with a gracious and fun older couple though (they saw us searching for a table with a 2-yr-old in tow.) Seems like they have many, many seats, but the busy day we were there (and ate around 5-ish) they were PACKED. BTW- right on the lagoon and beautiful.

I had their chicken tacos a few weeks ago. The "meat" just looked disturbing, and left a literal puddle of grease on the paper/basket it's served on. Got 3 tacos for roughly $11 and the tacos were about half the size of the typical soft taco shell (4 inches?). I waited 20 minutes in line for it, and it was gross. Not nearly enough seating either, not even nearby. People were eating on the ground in the general vicinity. I will NOT be returning.

We went there in November. We are generally not very picky, but the food was horrible. I got the chicken tacos and it was like rubber chicken. I can't remember what my husband got, but he wouldn't even eat it. That was the only bad meal we've ever had at WDW.

We actually LOVED the chicken tacos and salsa. So much so we made sure to go back on our last trip. I see mixed reviews, though, at best so we must either be lucky or have bad taste!:confused3

Thank you everyone. It sounds as if it wasn't very good for some, yet good for others. Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes

I absolutely loved it last December. I think I had chicken tacos (I can't remember) but whatever it was, I don't remember it being bad. The entree wasn't anything to write home about, but the desserts were delicious! I got the churros with caramel sauce and my mom got the mango-chile paleta. Both were so good, we'd go again just for those :)

Question!

I've read somewhere that, during the day, you can eat inside La Hacienda - as in, La Hacienda serves as inside seating for the Cantina during the lunch hours.

Is this accurate?
