Has anyone ever done the MK tour?

I just read about it and it sounds kind of cool -- you get to see all the MK tunnels and stuff. It's like $200, so I'm wondering if it's worth it?

I'm not sure what you are looking at but we did the Keys to the Kingdom and it was about $60 each. It was an awesome tour!! We absolutely loved it!

I did the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour and I didn't think it was that great. Seeing the tunnels was cool but other than that I didn't really learn anything I didn't know already.

Wow really?? I am a former CM and while I knew most everything and had worked at the MK I still thought it was pretty cool...and learned 2 new things.

I have done the keys to the kingdom. I thought it was fine - I think I liked it at the time. It started raining and they gave us a bunch of the mickey ponchos which I thought was really nice.

The tour I have been trying to do (which is always sold out...) is Backstage Magic (or something like that) that takes you to a bunch of the parks and to a few other behind the scenes areas. I have heard from a number of people who have done it that its amazing and not to be missed.

Also keep in mind for most tours if you have an annual pass or a disney visa you get a % off.

I've done both- the Keys to the Kingdom (Just MK) about 10 years ago and my husband and I are doing the tour again next week. It's about $60 but you can get a 20% discount if you use your Disney VISA- better than the discount for passholders (15%). In this tour, you get to go in the tunnels and see plenty of the backstage magic. Something that I think may have changed is that they now include lunch at Harvest House. (this wasn't included 10 years ago, so I'll have to let you know what happens). It's about a 5 hour tour.

I've also done the 3 park tour (I believe it's the Backstage Magic tour), which is about $200- which again you can get the different discounts for. It's an all day tour, but very eye opening. When I did it, it included lunch at Mamma Melrose, but they changed it to Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. You get to go through Epcot (living seas, american adventure, etc), Hollywood Studios and MK. The MK section isn't as detailed, as the Keys to the Kingdom, but it's still interesting.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but for Disney fans, they are both interesting and give you a different appreciation for Disney Magic.

As a former Keys to the Kingdom Tour Guide I'm going to say it's totally awesome :thumbsup2 lol
And lunch is served at the Columbia Harbour House, I used to work there too :goodvibes

But since you are asking about Backstage Magic, as it is the more expensive tour, I can't really say much as I have never been on it. So I will second the fact that you can get a discount with an AP, Disney Visa, AAA or DVC, pick your poison.

Brian and I did Keys to the Kingdom last September (a few days after he proposed) and we both really enjoyed it. The only downside is that it's a pretty big chunk out of the day. We learned a few things we didn't know, but not an incredible amount of "secrets".

The tour we enjoyed more was the Around the World Segway Tour. That one was fantastic! We're probably going to do it again with some of our wedding guests in December. You get to go through World Showcase before it opens to guests and they really tell you a lot of really cool facts about the international pavilions. And when we finished, we still had the rest of the day to spend any way we wanted.
