Has anyone ever cruised while a family member was part of the crew?

My neice was just hired by the Disney Cruise Line for the Wonder as an entertainment cast member. She informed us that once she's been with the company for 3 months, we can cruise using her employee rate.

Has anyone had this opportunity before? Just wondering what category it was good for and if you had the chance to upgrade to a higher category pending availability (would love one of those verandah's )

I know someone who's daughter worked on the Wonder last year. They had an inside cabin category 11.
