Has anyone ever booked at Cat. 12?

It seems like I don't hear of many people booking a Cat. 12, and it looks like there are very few of them on the ship...we just booked two in a guarantee status for Oct. 17 4 day Wonder. I just wondered what other people had experienced with this. Also, it looked like Cat. 12 only accomodated 3 people per room, but our groups have four per room and we were still able to book them (again, GTY status).

Do you get your docs upon booking or only once final payment is made?

Thanks!

My husband and I just returned from 3 days on the Wonder in a cat 12, cabin 2015. It was small, but fine for our needs. I would rather spend the extra money on excursions and shopping and fancy drinks! However, I really don't think there is room for 4 people in a Cat 12, there was only the one queen size bed and then the couch, and I don't really think there is space for luggage for 4. I think even 3 people would be really pushing it. The cat 12's do not have the divided bathroom, either.

We got our docs about 3 weeks before the cruise, well after final payment is made. I don't believe they send them out until at least 3-4 weeks before.

Have a great time, we are planning on cruising again, probably doing the cheapest cabin, but going for a 7 day the next time.

there are 13 cat 12 rooms on the ship and each and every cruise they seem to sell out....

For our May 20th cruise, I booked a Cat 12 and was automatically upgraded to a Cat 11.

We went last May and had a cat.11 room. They are the same size as the cat.12 (184 SF I think) and only have the 1 bathroom. We have 4 people in our family (7 and13 yo DD my DH and myself). We didn’t have any problem with having enough room. We are not in the room all that much, and the beds for the kids where fine. There are 2 of them (bunked style).
If we watched TV we wanted to be laying on the beds anyway, not sitting up. Getting ready was not a problem. There are curtains that can be drawn for dressing and we took showers some in the morning and some at night. The only time we had a problem was one morning when my 13 yo DD got into the shower before my DH got to the potty. You can imagine he was knocking on the door and trying to speed up the showing process. (not an easy task for a 13 yo girl).
For the money we felt like it was worth it. We took a limo to and from the airport with the extra money, (only about $50.00 more then Disney Bus for 4) we loved the limo and would do it again. Plus taking the lower Cat. room saved us more then $50.00.
Cat. 12 is in the front of the ship though and does feel the most movement of the sea. You may want to check the price on a cat 11 and compare. Sometimes there is little or no difference in the cost. (According to my TA)

We booked and stayed in a cat. 12 room last October. We actually really liked the room and the location. There are times that the cat 12 actually costs more than the cat 11 so you should check this. The cat 11 and 12 rooms are the same size. We booked a cat 11 for our next cruise simply because at the time it was cheaper than the cat 12. Strange really. The cabin was fine for the two of us. Plenty of storage space. We were actually surprised at how big the cabin was.
