Has anyone ever asked for a sneak peek at an almost open attraction?

Ya my kids got into a soft opening of Mission Space we found them on a bench laying down when we got there. I didn't think I was going to get them to ride it again they were pretty nauseated haha Much milder now.

They just were checking around hoping for a soft opening they didn't ask anyone just stumbled upon it open.

Yup, soft openings only and they are unannounced. We came across a 7DMT soft opening before it officially opened. It was fun! You can go to a park hoping for a soft opening, but I wouldn't count on it.

We rode Little Mermaid in a soft opening. There were a bunch of cast members standing near the construction wall of the Mine train quietly allowing people through. We walked right on.

We caught a soft opening of the Fantasy Land expansion in 2012 and it was awesome. We got to see Enchanted Tales with Belle (it was MUCH longer than the current version), rode the Little Mermaid ride, and they were allowing people into Be Our Guest without ADRs, and Gaston s Tavern was open, too.

Disney had a CM at the entrance (which was blocked off) and we walked up and asked if they were letting people in, she said something like "not everyone but we're letting YOU in -- enjoy!" and moved the rope for us.

I had read the soft opening was For Annual Pass holders only, so it was quite a surprise!

My friend and I did soft opening for the Monster Inc. laugh floor in MK. I didn't realize it was a soft opening at the time cause I wasn't following disboards at the time. That first show I saw was the best cause it was longer and had way more jokes! I remember laughing so hard when they played the joke of "that guy" for a long time and they went on and on about the "guy who is going to buy everyone Churros".

Like everyone else said, we didn't ask to get to go on the ride early. We just happened to walk by and see that they were letting people in so we went in.

Kind of... during the soft opening of New Fantasyland we saw one cast member standing at the closed off entrance during the day. This was when they were opening it up during some of the NSSHPs so I thought there might be a chance. I went up and asked if they were letting people in and he asked how many of us there were. I said just my husband and I and he smiled and said we could go right in and have a magical time. I had to wave my husband over because he thought there was no way they would let us in and didn't go up with me... :)

Yes! We did the same! They just happened to have a couple people out front quietly directing folks into the ride. No wait at all...

Now, I also got to ride Everest & Test Track before they officially opened too. Everest I was there for the filming, and I can see myself on the in-room programming!!! For Test Track, we got to ride a soft opening as a kid... that was really cool.

We did this as well! Rode Little Mermaid about 4 times without getting off - at least two of those rides, we were the only people as far as we could see. We also got to eat dinner at BoG that night.

What was the response? Whom should you ask?

It's kind of a not inspected yet construction site until they are ready to soft open. they won't walk you around a completed non-functioning ride there is no way they would in a construction zone.. Soft opening very close to announced opening date is the only way you might do this..

How early do soft openings usually start? Is it weeks or just days?

Usually days, there's just no way to know. Only clue might be if you're on the boards here and someone in the park gets in to a soft opening. Then again, it is likely only open intermittently--perhaps a few hours here, a few hours there. Soft openings are for the benefit of WDW, not for guests.

What PP said, people post on here fast that there is a soft opening. pirates for example started to let some people in here and there very early.

We stumbled onto a soft opening of Rock N Roller coaster when I was on my honeymoon. It was awesome. We rode several times with very little wait.

Hubby and I got to do the soft opening for Alien Encounters. Even better was meeting George Lucas!

We also found a soft opening of RnR while standing in the courtyard, marveling at the giant guitar. A CM came out and said they were opening for about thirty minutes. It was very cool. But...

It was pretty unsettling watching the cars launch into the dark when NO ONE IN LINE had any idea what to expect and none of us had ever ridden it before. Talk about riding into the unknown.

Considering myself lucky that I will get to experience the new Soarin, night safari, Jungle Book show and new SW fireworks on our upcoming trip but I would be lying if I said I wasn't bummed that Frozen Ever After opens 2 days too late. Hoping to stumble across a soft opening but trying to not get my hopes up!

My mom and I ended up being there for a soft opening for Rock N Roller coaster. We had so much fun going on the ride over and over with zero wait. My mom still talks about how it was one of her favorite Disney memories!

You read my mind.
