This was actually a really cute movie, a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was a little surprised at the PG-13 rating though. There wasn't any sex or drug use, and very little, very minor swearing (the "A" word and the "B" word once or twice). The only thing I can think of was that she smoked a lot at the beginning of the movie. That may account for the rating.

We took our kids (15, 11 and 8) and the girls loved it, my 11 old son was a little bored. Kate Hudson did a great job, as did Joan Cusack and the kids who played her nieces and nephews. If you are looking for a lighthearted, feel good movie I would say give it a try. :)

There are like 6 movies out there that I want to see. That is defiantely one of them. I am really glad you enjoyed it. I am trying to drag DH there for that..but it is hard to get away from the kids.

Thanks for the info. Glad it was better than what the critics were saying.

We went to see this on Friday night. The theater was packed! I thought the movie was really cute, and will no doubt do well.
Kate Hudson has had a string of cute movies going. She sure does remind you of her Mom though!

Forgot to add: We also saw Day After Tomorrow. I thought this one was a total waste of time. So far fetched IMO.

DD saw it. She thought it was really good. Her exact words to me "Mom, Kate Hudson is so pretty, in a normal woman kind of way".;)

I have only seent the trailer so far, but isn't it depressing that the parents die? I don't want to see the movie for that reason.

They handled the parent's dying pretty well. You didn't see the accident, you just heard about it. It was really only one sad scene for the most part.
