Has anyone else received the new Sharing the Magic referral booklet?

I called my guide last night regarding an AKL add on. He's double checking with the sales manager and calling me back, but when he entered the info in his computer, he told me it "looked" like I'd get $21 off per point PLUS the cruise. I'm waiting to hear from him as he double checks today.

Anyone have any latest details of AKV?

$91 per point, someone said? I believe AKV was at $94 per point, which expired Mon..That was $8 off with member referral..

Now, $91 per point, minimum 160 buy in new members I assume? That would be in lieu of 4 day cruise I would imagine..Any developer points? Any December 08 use year still available?????

First referral is $200 Disney Rewards Card..Anything else being offered?

Anyone with exact details would be greatly appreciated! My guide called me back, but can't get back to her until at least tomorrow!

Thanks so much!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

AKV New Member purchase would need to be 200 + points for $91 per point price ( $21 off $112). 160 - 199 points priced at $93 per point ($19 off $112).

No developer points. Sorry don't know answer to UY question.

Referral reward goes to existing member who refers new member that purchases - it is $200 but
as stated in Sharing the Magic referral booklet it does not need to be a Disney Rewards Card - ETA there are other options : credit towards DVC MFs or credit towards add-on purchase or Visa prepaid card.

Past couple of days members have been receiving Sharing the Magic booklet by mail which offers 3 night cruise for new member purchase of 160 pts or more with a member referral however it doesn't say if this incentive is combinable with $ off per point incentive; call to ask guide.

AKV add-on's are $13 off on 50 - 99 points, $19 off on 100 - 124 points,
$21 off on 125 or more points. In Sharing the Magic booklet it said minimum 100 pt add-on purchase for 3 night cruise incentive but it isn't clear if that is combinable with $ off incentive - - but it sounds like from what your guide is saying it is -- that would be awesome :goodvibes !! Please post back on this after you talk to your guide today because afaik I haven't seen any posts yet about definitely getting both the cruise incentive and $ off per pt incentive.

Good luck ! I hope that this is the case :thumbsup2

Tammy -- Any new info?

Wow...I figured this was only good for new members. I have to go dig up my booklet and call our guide tomorrow. :woohoo:

I got the booklet today, but I didn't see anything about $200 per referral. But I live in Texas and I think our laws prohibit any sort of "commissions" or payments to anyone but realtors for any type of real estate transaction.

Its funny, I was thinking the booklet was alot like the AP promo they just did, where AP holders were given these coupons to give away to people who buy new APs. The new AP purchaser gets 10% off their APs and the AP holder who gave them the coupon gets $25 for every AP purchased. I was wondering why there was no incentive for the DVC member. Now I understand why.

But if the referred person gets the discount and a cruise, I do it just for them to get the deal. So, if anyone confirms that new members get both, please post the details!

thanks!

Not sure about the cruise with current incentives, but I know I was not allowed to combine the webcast deal with the cruise. That's ok though, we are getting 275 BLT points for $92 a point. :cool1:

I tried to call our guide yesterday (Monday), but his voicemail said he is off until Wednesday, so I will ask him then. We originally visited the DVC info center last October, but didn't bite. If I can get the 3-day cruise and the $21/point discount at AKV, we'll likely buy now. I'll post what I find out.

Has anyone else received direct feedback on this question?

Please post any information you receive. I haven't called...afraid I'd be too tempted!!! :rolleyes1

I had to call my guide this week about something else and asked her about this, since I received it in the mail recently too. I just referred a family member to buy at VGC at the hugely discounted prices after June 16th. My guide said no, the cruise is not combined with the big discounts. You can get some money off and the cruise, but not the largest discount combined with the cruise.

Thanks, Red Head. The info I just received seems to corroborate your info...

I haven't talked to my guide yet, but I received this from another source. Essentially you get "extra points" off, $6/pt for 160-199 points and $8/pt for 200+ points, OR the 3-day cruise offer. The base number of promotional points are as follows: AKV, $13/pt off of $112; BLT, $5; SS, $13; VGC, $16.

Note: this is for new members, apparently - not sure about add-ons. I’ll post tomorrow if I hear something different from my guide.

I tossed my referal booklet into the round filing cabinet. Until DVC starts doing a little more for its members I am not going to do any free advertising for them!!!!!

According to DVCnews.com, there has been clarification that there is the $13pp discount (regular offering right now) + $6-$8 off with a referral (depending on the size of contract) OR $13 + the cruise. It sounds like it's not both, but there is still (as someone mentioned) a discount even if you choose the cruise. I guess it was too good to be true!

Please post if anyone hears otherwise! :goodvibes

ETA: I think that's what Texas Gator was saying too, I just heard it differently in my head when reading that post! :rotfl:

This seems like a nice and easy way to put it...but to answer the question I did get the booklet...held on to it for a few days then tossed it!
