I don't see a lot on either of these two restaurants and am considering trying one. Has anyone been to either and had a good meal?

thanks,

Deb

We have only had breakfast at the Maya, but it was quite a tasty buffet. Food was hot, plentiful, and well presented.
The Turf Club...... we have had many lunches and dinners, and have never been disappointed. I love their burgers, pasta dish, reuben sandwich, and they do a nice calamari as an appie. Enjoy!!!:thumbsup2

Believe it or not, even though we have stayed at the CSR seven times, we've only eaten breakfast once at the Maya Grill. It is a typical buffet--although I think you find more selection at the character buffets. We have never had dinner there; I've read good reviews and bad reviews. I have a friend I've met through the DIS who has strongly urged we try the Turf Club--she said it is a "hidden" treasure.

We have eaten at the Turf Club and it was great! I had the prime rib and the sauce on it had me licking my plate! JK, but it was that good. We had great service, the place is really nice and we all enjoyed the food.

We have eaten and both. Never been disappointed with the Maya Grill, the food is good and service has been fine, but it is not on our must do list. Turf Club is one of our favorites. We always make time, be it lunch or dinner, for at least one meal at Turf Club... and it is usually easy to get a seating there... it's kinda like the hidden gem!

My DD and I stayed at SSR in October and had dinner at the Turf Club twice. WE LOVED IT!

We were pleasantly surprised at how great the service and food was...we weren't very original with our food choices tho'..had the same meal both nights! because it was so good....

The NY steak was very good...cooked just right and very tender and the garlic mashed potatoes were awesome! They had really good onion rings with 3 sauces and the apple pie was tasty with just the right amount of spice. We ate once on the terrace and once inside. The terrace was lovely but we found the rod iron chairs a little bit uncomfortable.

I agree that this restaurant is a hidden gem:thumbsup2

I have eaten several times during different stays at each restaurant. The food at Maya Grill was good, but every time I ate there the service was "off" (not horrible, but not very good). Turf Club is very good:thumbsup2 . I really like the appetizers (calamari, crab cakes and mussels, especially the broth:goodvibes ) and the entrees have always been very good. Well, except for the very strong "herb" bun on the hamburger two years ago. (Don't know if they still use the same bun:confused3 ). But, I have made special trips to SSR just to eat at Turf Club:banana: , but I would not make a special trip to eat at Maya Grill.

We ate at the Maya Grill in September. The food was very good but the kitchen is extremely slow so be prepared to spend some time in this restaurant. We got there when the restaurant opened so I know the kitchen wasn't backed up. If you are not staying at CSR and don't have a car it is a long process to get there.

Maya Grill, fine; Turf Club -- I consider this to be the most disappointing restaurant on Walt Disney World property. The quality of the food when I visited for a formal review was embarrassing.

When did you visit? Did you try more than once? Any restaurant can have an occasional miss especially in its early months.

We've never dined at Maya Grill. We had dinner at the Turf Club last Nov. and this Oct.. It was OK in Nov. but I thought it was much better this year.

We just ate at Maya grill Thanksgiving week. Like another post said it is slow, slow, slow. The food was just o.k. and my dh food was cold when it finally made it to the table. Did I mention they are slow? It wasn't crowded either to make the kitchen run behind. I would not go there again.
