Has anyone driven over to the port late at night?

We are arriving early on Friday for a seven day eastern cruise in Feb. We would like to spend Fri. in one of Disney parks or try Universal. If we stay in the parks until the parks closed, (I believe in Feb. they might close around 8p.m.) would you still drive over to the port fri. night or would you stay in Orlando and get up and drive to the port in the morning? We will have a rental car to return in the morning either way over at budget near the port.

You will get arguments for both ways. My way would be to drive to the Port in the am. Because after the parks is is nice to be able to be back in you room and crash. The drive is short, under 1 hour to the port, so you can sleep in and relax and still have plenty of time to drive in the am. This way also in case anything would happen during the day you do have a hotel room to go back to.

Since you are asking opinions, I would drive in the AM. I would just make sure to be up and at it..I love to get to the port as soon as it opens, and check-in, and board as soon as we can. That way the first day is enjoyed, and you get to use the pools while they are at the most quiet of times... It is so late to drive over the night before for nothing really....

We have done it both ways.....we prefer driving in daylight but one time our flight was delayed and we did not land until very late at night....our hotel ressie was at the Radisson so we drove and checked in about midnight.

It is an easy drive to the port and we were up for it.

If I was at Disney for the day I would stay there and drive to the port in the morning. If we were getting in late I think I'd either stay at the airport hotel or go right to the port.

We stayed down in Vero Beach before our Dec. cruise and still got our rental car dropped off and made it to the port early enough to be 4th in line.
