Has anyone done Uber/Lyft exclusively from an off-site hotel and what did it cost?

We usually stay off site and rent a car. For our upcoming trip in October, the full size rental car is about $70/day including taxes. Add to that $30/day for theme park parking and the $26/day our hotel charges, I was thinking that we could probably uber/lyft around for less than $126/day but maybe that's crazy. Has anyone tried this? Is it really annoying having to call for a ride when you need it? If its not going to save much money, or be a hassle, we will just stick with the rental car which we are used to. We plan to stay in the Palm Parkway hotel area (Holiday Inn Express on points) and visit one park per day, staying most of the day. We'd obviously need to pay more the first and last day to get to/from MCO.

Grab the Uber/Lyft apps put in the address for pick up from your hotel then the address for TTC (for MK) and you can see what it would cost, just don't book the ride. You can do it for all 4 parks if you want. If you try to book it based on Eastern Time zones you'll have a better idea of the costs and if surge pricing is in effect.

We wanted to book a Minnie Van when going out to dinner one night. Never used that Lyft app before, so I was looking around to see how it works. You have to be VERY careful to not accidentally book a reservation (and the app doesn't allow you to cancel it). Not sure if they do that on purpose but unlike other sites where you are asked to 'confirm' before a charge is made...............it is VERY easy to book a reservation in error. (Fortunately, I was able to call their 'help desk' and the person cancelled my reservation since we weren't planning to travel until the next day !!!)

We prefer to rent a car since we don't often know where else we might decide to go to shop/sightsee/eat/etc. and the cost of those online taxis quickly adds up. For us, the rental car provides an available convenience that is more the just the money involved. Rental car gives us more flexibility since we never plan every minute of our Disney trips ahead of time.

No, it is not at all annoying to have to call for a ride. It's usually quite quick, slightly longer waits after midnight when leaving after hours or parties. When leaving MK I have sometimes walked to the Contemporary and called for a ride from there, or if I am closer to the international gateway at Epcot I have called from the Beach Club for a ride. Using Uber/Lyft is very flexible so I don't understand that comment. I got stuck at Caribbean Beach once when the skyliner went down because of a thunderstorm, so I called an Uber to get back to my on-site resort.

With only going to one park per day, you can definitely do it for far less than $126 per day. even if hopping, you would use Disney transportation between parks, so only 2 rides per day.

The trip to/from MCO can vary in price depending on time of day, I have had it about $30 + tip and more like $50 + tip during busier hours.
