I got an email today inviting us to do an open house tour of the DVC. In exchange, I can get a "Fastpass exchange ticket". I have been interested in DVC for a while, but never have gone to a tour. I'm curious how long does the tour last and what is this "Fastpass exchange ticket" Anyone else ever do this?

I can't remember how long the tour took but it was not high pressure and we both enjoyed it. I knew I would love DVC before I toured but I REALLY loved it afterward. Luckily DH did too. :) We've owned for about 3 years, I guess and have loved every minute of it! We got ice cream and a $50 GC that we used at Ohana. A fast pass thing would be great though!

Yes we did on our last trip 8/25-9/3. The tour took about an hour and a half. We went up to a DVC booth in Downtown Disney. Spoke to the cast member there for 5 minutes, he called somebody who came with a golf cart to pick us up. He took us to SSR. We were offered water, iced tea, lemonaide, coffee, tea. Our children were given the option to go to a kids club in the building while we took the tour and spoke to the guide. We saw a model of a studio and 1 BR villa of BLT and AKV. Then we went to an office and spoke to the guide, recieved lots of information with no pressure at all. We were a fastpass for each of us with three fastpasses on it.

The greatest part of the fastpasses was that when you put the card in the FP machine, it gave you a fastpass to ride immediately. We were told by our guide that if there were no fastpasses left for the day, that we could use the FP machine reserved for Birthdays. (We did have one cast member give us a hard time about this at Rock N Roller Coaster but had no problem with it at Toy Story and Soarin.)

When we were done speaking to the guide he took us to a little ice cream shop where we were given some ice cream and then a ride to wherever we wanted to be taken on Disney property. We went back to DTD because we were not done shopping yet but it would have been real nice to be able to get a ride back to WL.

Thank you for writing about your experience! I get these emails too and am always curious about what it would be like to tour. I would do it if I had my DH and family with me, but my upcoming trip is girls only so I would not want to do the tour w/o DH. Sounds like a neat tour and very enticing!

thanks for the info! I wonder if we can squeeze in some time this trip to take the tour. I have always wanted to learn more about DVC
