Has anyone done Boy Scout or Girl Scout camping at FW?

I am thinking about scheduling a camping trip to FW for my troop (I'm the leader). I'm wondering what experience others have had, and if you have any advice.

Also, I am wondering:
Are there discounts given to Scouts?

Is the group camping area offered even if we're a small group (13 people)? Would that be a better option than regular loops?

I'd love to have them stay in cabins, but the cost would be prohibitive - will Walt & his cast members work with us?

Does anyone have a source for FW (or theme park) based activities satisfying badge requirements? This would be for Daisy, Brownie or Junior Girl Scouts.

Thanks so much!

I am not much help but when I was in girl scouts years ago we did. My mom was the leader so I can ask her for details.

But, the night we arrived a huge storm came in and they put us in the cabins for that night for the same price for the tents!

I think we also used the Disney tents.

I will come back later if my mom tells me anything

The group camping area is $10 per night per person, minimum of 20 (I think). The partial hookup loops are as low at $47 per night where you can have up to 10 on a site.

So with 13 girls you could get two sites or 3 sites and spread out your tents between the sites.

As far as activities, there is something called the YES (Youth Education Series). You might call Disney and see about that.

I would reccommend the Y.E.S. program and 2 partial sites. We took a troop down in 2007 with 22 girls plus leaders spread over 3 sites. The girls really loved it. Working through the YES program makes it one stop shopping on most things is is worth looking into.

Carol pretty much gave you all the info you needed, I posted a thread a couple days ago with people talking about the group camping area, look for some more info there.

If you can go, you will have a great time. I don't know about any discounts, Disney normally never did with us, I guess it depends on the situation.

Thanks for all the info! I've got an email in to the YES program (too late to call them now). Hopefully they can work with us. Our group only has 7 girls. Maybe we can get a few extra's to hitchhike. :)
