Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

There is a 23 carat magicband out there. It has London Blue Topaz, Royal Purple Amethyst, Rhodolite, and three Rubies for the Mickey Mouse head in the center.

I am new to DisBoards so I can't post a photo for everyone but if someone can Google "Gem Covered Magic Band" and post a photo to share with everyone that would be a good addition here for magicband designs.

I ordered some off Amazon and also got sheets of printable tattoo paper and I am going to try to print some myself as well. Have about 20 more days until I get my bands, so haven't actually tried this on a band yet.

I just used the printable tattoo paper on my bands. They turned out well, a little pixelated, but that could have been my print settings as well :)

Make sure you trim them really closely though, the extra will show up!

Here's my current crop of my Magic Bands. Still a few that waiting their turn to be decorated.

These look fantastic! I am going to have 9 of them to do in 2015 and would love to know your procedure. Stickers? Rub-on Transfers? Temporary Tatoos?

I would love to hand paint them all but I am afraid I will run out of time when push comes to shove.

I thought I would try a different version of the rose for my yellow band. I haven't sealed it yet. I'm pretty sure it needs some glitter first. :)

Very nice! And yes I think just the right amount of glitter will really make it soar!!

Wow - just Wow. Awesome.

I am trying to convince my Mom that it is indeed okay to put rhinestones over the Mickey head on the MB. She won't take my word for it and wants to see video proof. Since she is going back to WDW before I go I can not make the video for her. Does anyone have or is anyone willing to make a video showing that it works? I want to decorate her band as a surprise- but she will be infuriated if I cover the head when she doesn't think it will work.

Thanks!

Here's an update I made to my Magician Mickey themed band. I tried to replicate the ornate gold lines that are found on the sign near the entry to Town Square. I'm pretty pumped with the outcome considering I typically can't draw worth a flip. :woohoo:

It looks great! I love the gold. :thumbsup2

Anyone have any good tips for getting discoloration out of the band? I took off some mistake parts (red paint) and it seems to have smudged into the band (which is pink) and the nail polish remover I was using doesn't seem to get it out. It looks almost orange now. Any ideas? :confused3

Thank you! Here are closer pics of the Anna and Elsa themed bands. I used Anna's dresses and pulled designs from them. For Elsa I just went with swirling snow.

These are lovely esox. Will you give a close-up of your Figment one and how you made them? Acrylics and sealer? Nail polish and base coats?

Thank you! Lisa

Thanks, Lisa! We used acrylics for most everything but also used nail polish for certain elements. It was easier to paint with the acrylics. The figment band was done with acrylic paints. We use OPI natural nail base coat to prime and seal the bands. We also added glow in the dark paint to the sparks and figment's eyes.

Thank you kindly! And please do not mind, but I am totally using your figment mb as inspiration for mine. Cheers!
