Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Soooo excited!!! You guys have done an amazing job and have truly inspired us. Can you please tell me the width and length of the mid section of the band. Hubby really wants me to design a pirates one. Thank you!

I'm trying to work on a Pirates theme for my son. My dh wants Darth Maul. Ack.

I finished the last one. My DD14 likes to challenge me. ;)

Here is the complete set!

These are beautiful! I second all the comments that if you had a shop on etsy, I'd pay too! :worship: And I have to tell you, my DD bragged to her dad about the beautiful rose one. She gave him the puppy eyes and everything - but I know it won't come out so well.

Was just able to finish my MB still need my DH and I'm done.

I'm glad I found this thread. I don't get my band until September, but now I have ideas!

I had really wanted a purple band, but that color isn't available. So I am getting a green one instead. I think I'll paint the grey part of the band purple because I love purple and green. I'll outline the mickey head in black and then paint the mickey head purple. I also want some glow in the dark, but haven't decided if I want the whole mickey head to glow or just outline it. I may do the whole mickey head and outer band glow in the dark.

It seems like almost everyone is using standard nail polishes.. no special brands... which is good, because I no idea what brands are better than others.

Thanks for all the pictures and tips!

Nothing elaborate here, we just wanted them sparkly. I thought it was harder than people here make it look. The nail polish is hard to get on without streaks and clumps, so I suggest using the newest polish you have! Two coats helped.

The blue is mine and my favorite, I tried to match it with my Cinderella costume for the Princess Half Marathon. ;)

First try!

Absolutely LOVE the Maleficent one! She's my fav! Was it hard to do it that small? I carved and painted a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby car like Maleficent years ago and it came out great, but this is much smaller. What did you use?

I used carbon paper and a drawing off the internet. Around the Mickey head did not trace as well but enough that I could make out what to do. I went back over it with a fine line permanent marker when I knew it was how I wanted it :))

Outstanding!!!Simply beautiful work! I would so do this except Disney doesn't send the MB to Canadian addresses. Sigh... we'll get our bands on arrival.

Plan out what you want to do (keeping it simple), and paint one night in your room. They may not be done for the whole trip, but you could have it for most of the time, and it would make a good keepsake. Maybe you could take small perm. markers and a bottle of clear top coat.

DH has a set of mini sharpies (he uses them to mark his golf balls)! These will work and then clear nail polish! Yes! I will so do this!!!!!!:woohoo:

Love it! Can you tell me how you did it?

Thank you. For tink I used a temporary tattoo I had purchased at WDW a while back. But before I put her on the back I used base coat so she would stick better. The rest are nail art decals I had at home n just finished with clear coat when my total design looked the way I wanted. It was all pretty simple.

I'm so excited that this can be done. I already know what I'll be doing to my magic band and I can't wait to show you all.

Do you think the sharpies would streak if you gave them a really long time to dry? Maybe a week or so? I don't know, seems like it would be hard to do the designs I want without one.

I wouldn't risk it. For me, the top coat seemed to act almost like a solvent, so I don't think dry-time would matter. I think that's why people have been using nail art pens.

Checking in from WDW. We have been here since Friday. The bands have held up great and no issues with the Mickey heads being covered in nail polish. They still work perfectly.

One thing though, the bands have slowed us down some because all the CMS have to stop us and check them out. :lmao:
