Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I'm so happy to finally be able to post photos of my magic band. I cannot draw at all so I went with stickers. I love the way it turned out.

Love it!! And just the perfect Tardis blue too. :thumbsup2

The magic bands in this thread have been so cute! I was encouraged, so I attempted them for my family.

Awesome job. I especially like the Peter Pan theme and of course Eeyore. :goodvibes

I'd like to do a Goofy one too...but haven't seen one on this board.

I used a few layers of clear base coat on a yellow band. I cheated and bought white tracing paper from Hobby Lobby to trace the image. I used a stylus to trace the image and it's really faint, but kind of gives you some guidelines. I painted with very fine brushes and acrylic paints. I did one layer of clear sparkle acrylic paint over the whole band and then 2 layers of top coat. I filled in the extra holes with paint so the words were more clear to read. I tried painting letters in between the holes, but they were too small to read clearly. I wanted to add a few stars, but it looked way too busy, lol. I can't wait to see yours!

P.S. I agree that this is addicting! I'm already trying to decide on a design for next year;)

This is where the plastic bag method works well. Paint a base coat onto a plastic bag. When it dries apply the tattoo as you would normally. When that dries you should be able to peal the tattoo off the bag. Paint the underside of the tattoo with white nail polish. Allow to dry then place it on the band and seal it with base coat. This will leave the band it's original or painted colour but allow the tattoo to stand out.
I can't peel the tattoo off the bag! Glad I tried it on a tattoo I wasn't going to use first... Please help!!!!

Someone mentioned they were going to try acrylic paints.. were any findings posted? I am having no luck finding fingernail polish in good colors for what I want. and what I have found looks horrible and watery. (maybe it's because I'm a guy who's never used nail polish before...)

I had a failed attempt using these instructions as well. I instead did TOP coat, let it dry, painted white on top of the dried top coat, let it dry, placed tattoo, let it dry, and then peeled it right off. Hope that helps!

Seems from reports that the acrylic works well. Just be sure to use a sealer. (As I haven't done this yet someone else will have to tell you what sealer to use.)

I used Aleenes Matte Acrylic Sealer spray from Walmart (chose this one after looking at tons of acrylic sealer reviews for another project) and mine came out great. Held up and looked nice with the matte finish.

We had Justin from JWPCustomToms on Etsy paint ours - we did a Fantasmic theme - DBF got Mickey...

I finally got a picture of my MB. It is not as fancy as those of you who can free paint but I still like how it came out. I loved the color which was called waves which is perfect for a background for a mermaid.
